For what it's worth, I called CAMEO. They confirmed that Shaq will infact be there.

Their number is (305) 531-5535...you will have to go through like 2 "To blah blah blah, press <number>", but you can call a receptionist to see yourself. :)

Calling a club to see if Shaq's going?  That's taking it pretty serious.

Waaaaayy back in 1991 when I saw the Celtics play in Miami, I followed their bus back to the Mariott after the game and got pictures and autographs from all the players (Bird, McHale, Parish, DJ, etc)  But that was long, long ago.  But it's still one of my most treasured memories.

Very interesting about Shaq and the night club since they said he wasn't with the team.

http://www.clubzone.com/events/346056/miami/cameo/shaquille-oneal

Someone's pulling the wool over someone.  The team says Shaq stayed in Boston.  But yet he is appearing in a nightclub there?  I call foul.

yea what the hells goin on here?
just because he stayed in Boston while the team took flight to Miami doesn't mean he can't go to Miami on his own time come on people LOL

I'd feel much better if he was back in Boston rehabbing and getting ready to play instead of out clubbing in Miami.

Yeah I would feel a lot better right now if Shaq was back in Boston rehabbing and getting ready to play instead of out clubbing in Miami and going to the game the next day and I was the one out clubbing in Miami and going to the game the next day  ;D.

Well I just got back from Cameo and I have good news and I have bad news.....

The good news is, Shaq was NOT THERE.

The bad news is; Big Baby, Jermaine O'Neal AND RONDO were there until around 2 in the morning. Rondo left in an escalade with 3 chicks and Jermaine left with a few dudes (including Tyrone Lue) and Big baby honestly left alone about 20 mins after them in a cab.

On a side note I talked/shouted to all them about  how important tomorrows game was and they all made eye contact with me and agreed how important it was. I kept saying/yelling two seed, two seed! J'Oneal and Ty lue both gave me the two fingers and said we need it. Rondo actually smirked and looked at me and said "I know" when I said big game tomorrow Rondo we need that two seed. The best part of the night was Big Baby though, when he left I literally said to him "big game tomorrow baby, we need that two seed!" and he literally looked at me straight in the eyes and said "I know man" and gave me pound. He literally followed that by saying "that's why I'm going to get some sleep". Lets hope he was being honest.

All in all it was a pretty exciting night for me being a huge celtics fan and I really don't know what to make out of three important players being out at a night club at 2am, but I know it comes with the territory and happens all the time. The thing that scared me the most was seeing Rondo leaving in his escalade with a bunch of chicks and one on his lap when there was clearly room for her to sit in another seat.

Oh well, lets just hope his good night tonight equals a good game tomorrow....

I'd like to say 'shoulda been at the hotel sleeping', but if I was a young multi-millionaire athlete in Miami with a 3PM game, I'd probably be out enjoying myself too.

Kind of a big game though.

Although I agree and thinks its a tad bit absurd to expect all the Celtics players to be 100% focused on basketball every minute, I do think as a fan that we have the right to question their judgement as players on certain occasions and I really think this is one of those times. The Celtics blew a shot at the one seed by getting spanked in Chicago on Thursday and now we face Miami in a afternoon game (mind you) to determine who will be the 2 seed, which is going to be sooo vital in the second round. IMHO, I don't think that any Celtic player should have been out at 2 in the morning tonight leaving a club with a bunch of chicks when we arguably have our most important game of the year tomorrow, at 330pm!!! This is directed at Rondo more then anyone, solely based on the fact he was the only one to leave with women and it was very obvious he wasn't on his way home to get some rest, like it at least appeared Big Baby and JO were trying to do....

NBA players don't follow a typical 9-5 schedule like the majority of people.  Their responsibility to the team is to be ready for the game and in this case 2AM isn't all that late if the game is at 3:30PM the next day.  Outside of that they do have lives.  The younger single guys like BBD and Rondo are going to go out just like anybody else would whether they're pro basketball players or another profession.

I'm sure may of you may have traveled for work; do you just stay in at hotel all the time or do you also go out and explore?

If Baby has a great game against the Heat, I'm going to advocate he have a celibacy clause in his next contract.  If Rondo has a great game, Ainge should pay for as many hookers as necessary during the playoffs.

Despite launching a fashion line this year, Jermaine O'Neal is listed as married. for those who care about that sort of thing.

Rondo shouldn't be out with a bunch of chicks. He is in a committed relationship and they have a little girl.  His fiance was on Shannon Allen's show along with Rondo's mom.   Shame on him!

That being said, I remember back to the 1986 championship year. I remember Bird and Walton talking about how the whole team give up drinking and would not take another drink until they won the championship.  They committed themselves to that championship and they played like it.
I'm getting the feeling that the fans are more committed to winning than the team is.  If they play like they're hung over I'll be pretty ticked off.

He's lying, they all came to my house after the party and we played beer pong all night. Ray Allen kept knocking down all his shots, Glen Davis was short the whole night and got angry and knocked over the table, KG smacked him on the back of his head.
Celtics' turn on switch for the playoffs: the last bastion of hope for battered Celtic fans.

Believe what you may, I didn't take a picture because it was 2am outside of a club and I'm not TMZ, nor am I that type of fan to ask for an autograph or a picture. That being said, after we got over the initial shock of seeing JO and Rondo, when Big Baby came out my GF wanted/tried to take a picture of him but he wanted no part of it, which I completly understand. If you go back and see who started this thread to begin with it was me, because I'm down here for the game and when I saw that Shaq was going to be at Cameo I had my doubts/concerns after ESPN reported he wasn't with the team. So when Baby, JO and Rondo showed up, I was shocked. Not in a bad way at first, just happy I saw some of the Celtics out in public and they semi acknowledged me for being the only person who truly recognized them for who they were and said how big this game is against the Heat.On a side note, I think Tyrone Lue was more happy I knew who he was to be honest then I was to talk to him for 5 seconds, hahaha. Either way, once I realized it was passed 2am and that they had a game at 3:30 today, which is the biggest game of the year by the way and they will probably be at the arena at 1pmish, I just brought up the question on this blog if you guys thought this should be considered an issue.

People mention that they don't work 9-5 jobs and that when the average Business man/woman travels, that you don't just sit in your hotel and that you go and explore. This is all true, but in my opinion if its the night before a huge sales pitch/presentation/conference etc. for your job like this game in comparison is to them, would you be out late at a club leaving with a bunch of women to do god knows what?

if it's true, Rondo will be slow today.
