new official stance:  This team is a nonfactor in the playoffs if Shaq doesn't come back  Either we get upset in round 1 or embarrassed in round 2.  Shame.  Getting outrebounded by a team with no big man.

Yeah, we need Shaq.

I was hoping at the beginning of the season that Shaq was going to be like Bill Walton in 1986.  It's getting to be more and more like the 2011 model.

Dumb, dumb, dumb, DUMB to make a trade that's 100% reliant on Shaq and JO getting (and staying) healthy.  DUMB.

If Jermaine O'Neal is good for 28-32mpg by the time the second round starts ... I think the Celtics will still be very dangerous in the playoffs.

However, if Shaq does not return + Jermaine cannot play more minutes or if he gets injured again, then I agree ... this team doesn't have a shot at a title.

if the Cs get the knicks..they are in trouble

the thing is: like the Bulls game, our opponent seems to run with two gears more. We just can't run with them on the court.. JO and Ray are hard to watch, both in D and O.

gundy just made some sense and I agree with him. Starting Green at the 4 would benefit the Cs cause well we suck at rebounds anyway.

That has always been my problem with the trade. How Danny could have so much faith in the health of Shaq and JO I will never understand.

Doc bring Jeff Green instead of BBD..please

i liked the trade when it went down....boy was I wrong. it has totally torpedoed this team. they have gained ZERO from it. the bench is worse...the offense is worse...the toughness is gone and the team (esp rondo) looks mentally spent

danny wagered shaq would be back by now and it has totally backfired...

Sweet, the pessimists are out in force.  ::)

I know I am, but I'm desperately trying to find ONE single reason to be optimistic..  ::)

Shaq will not come back...calling it now.

This offense has become despicable.  Ever since the trade, Ray Allen has become invisible in this offense.

yeah. i never expect shaq to come back and give this team what they need. i think we are watching the window shut right before our eyes

I agree...at first I waited before making a decision on how I feel about the trade, but clearly now, not a fan...the trade has absolutely killed this team.  The front office and medical staff obviously had no idea what they were talking about when it comes to Shaq, they traded away their only other good bigman for a guy who's used to playing 30+ minutes and is now playing 15-20 minutes a game which in turn is making him struggle and seem a little disinterested in playing for this team.

They're dead in the water.  I see a second round exit

I would really love to be as optimistic as you are. I swear. Can you point out some things that you're seeing with this team right now that are boosting your optimism? And I'm being totally serious. Maybe there are just some things I'm not seeing.

This team looks cooked. Today was a big game with home court on the line and they can't even come close.

Doc should either bench the guy who passes lazy or just go to the locker room.

Still don't believe in Joe.

hard to be optimistic when against your two biggest rivals in the bulls and heat you get beat down like it is nothing. at the end of the season no less...

i guess we should just look at the wiz game friday...if that team wasn't d league level they would have beaten the Cs
