Is anyone really surprised?

This has been the Celtics strategy all along. They want Shaq for the playoffs only, he's already proven what he can do in the early season.

The million dollar question is can Shaq stay healthy? He might be the X factor for the Celtics.

Right -- he really hasn't been injured all year and he faked that injury the other night after his five minutes on the court.

I wouldn't go that far, but I will say that any excuse to keep Shaq off the court pre-playoffs the Celtics will use.

I'm not comfortable with Shaq being our savior, but looks like we don't have much choice at this point.

There's only a week left in the season AND Boston will be playing either New York or Philly in the first round. Why would they risk anything by bringing him back now.

Sums it up pretty well.

I just hope he can actually play at some point in the playoffs without breaking a hip lol.  ;D

I think the target is - and always has been - Round 2 and beyond. Whether he can stay on the court is another matter entirely.

Hopefully he'll keep Jermaine out until the post-season as well ... the guy is so incredibly injury-prone, I cross my fingers whenever he's on the court. ;)

Me too Bahku. Whenever he comes out of a rebounding battle underneath I'm expecting to see him limping... It's stressful being a Cs fan!

Does Tanguay have a source, or is he going on his gut?
