I see what they're talking about.  Jeff Green looks like he's still trying to fit in, and good teams seem to be able to exploit our softness in the middle with Jermaine on limited minutes and Shaq being injured.  If we're healthy I think the rotation will be shorter and the identity of the team will be more much definitive.

Yeah the identity issue is that they just need Shaq back and/or JO on the floor longer.

And then when the playoffs hit, the C's will have their full playoff energy.

TP, I think that's exactly it.

TP for you as well. Basketball is a fairly simple game at its core. The lynch pin of the Celtics problems are a lack of true center size in the middle. After that the rest will take care of itself.

Doc is still a good coach, the 4 stars are still gonna bring it, etc.

For me its simple, you don't change a team who was on a championship run in order to prepare for the future.  Jeff Green is not worth a championship and Danny Ainge could of just traded for Shane Battier and kept Perk and Semih and the Celtic would be a better team.

I am starting to get scared for Danny Ainge, the team looks worse than the Red Sox and everyone is starting to see he screwed the pooch on this trade and are blaming him.

Could be a Bill Buckner situation all over again.

Question?
as playoff stand are the Miami supposed to face chicago be4 the cs
yes or no

Nope. Celtics and Miami will play in the 2nd round. Now it is just a matter of who will have the home court advantage.

Now that last night is over, the Sunday Miami game is the biggest game of the season.  :P

It is a big game unless the Celtics lose. Then we can come here and read about how the game really did not matter -- LOL

I am very concerned as much as I try to be optimistic and until something tells me otherwise, my gut is telling me we aren't going far this year.

4 games to go and our Head Coach says that we are still trying to find ourselves.

Larry Bird is not walking through that door, fans. Kevin McHale is not walking through that door, and Robert Parish is not walking through that door. And if you expect them to walk through that door, they're going to be gray and old. What we are is young, exciting, hard-working, and we're going to improve. People don't realize that, and as soon as they realize those three guys are not coming through that door, the better this town will be for all of us because there are young guys in that (locker) room playing their asses off. I wish we had $90 million under the salary cap. I wish we could buy the world. We can't; the only thing we can do is work hard, and all the negativity that's in this town sucks. I've been around when Jim Rice was booed. I've been around when Yastrzemski was booed. And it stinks. It makes the greatest town, greatest city in the world, lousy. The only thing that will turn this around is being upbeat and positive like we are in that locker room... and if you think I'm going to succumb to negativity, you're wrong. You've got the wrong guy leading this team.

Oh no doubt last night was the biggest game of the season up until this Sunday. And the loss was a big downer. But the C's aren't at full strength in the middle yet. I see plenty of tighten-able areas. The Bulls are going to be very difficult to beat, but I think the Celtics are capable.

Anyway the Sunday game is bigger only because it represents a full W/L swing for a direct home court battle for the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Whereas the Bulls game represented a half game and a measuring stick opportunity against the hottest team in the East, just 2 weeks before the playoffs start.

He sure was the wrong guy to lead the team.  ;D

How many "big games" did the Celts lose last year? How often were we treated with hysterical rants about how said loss showed that we were no longer title contenders?

  LOL

Yeah. I don't get all this hand-wringing and moaning, including from the players.

Is there any real doubt the Celtics will advance to the ECF? Not scared of the first round opponent, nor the Heat.

And I know your big problem is that he brought in too many new guys so late, but where would we be if we were left with one healthy body instead of the guys we got back.  Wouldnt we be in even worse shape?

Assuming that he just brought in a backup 3 (Anthony Parker?), it's likely the team would have probably not had a much different record than they do now.  They may arguably have lost some more games when Perk was out, and probably would have won more since he was back.

Most importantly, though, the team would be together for the playoffs, and you wouldn't have the coach talking about how the team lacks an identity after 78 games.
