As many times as I've read Silver Screen and Roll, I can honestly say that I have not seen a Laker Poster over there admit that Boston is better than LA.....they all drink Purple and Gold Kool-Aid, and to that point at least I respect it.

When LA was struggling a couple of months ago, I don't recall any posters over there admitting that Boston was better.

They absolutely cannot stand Boston, and they are pretty much united in that idea.

Just my observation.

That's Apples and Oranges.

Celtic fans hate the Lakers, as do I.

But being a fan doesn't mean you can't be objective.

Laker bigs are kicking ass while the Celtic centers are either injured or vastly under performing.

Lakers had a back to back as well vs Utah, they are blowing the hell out of them, and they've lost ONE game since the All Star Break.

LA has Lamar Odom, 6th man of the year and almost an all Star, Celtics have Big Baby Davis who scores 20 points 1 night then costs us the game the next.

Lakers have won 2 Championships in a row, and all the Western conference teams look like speed bumps at this point. Celtics have to beat the Bulls and the Heat without homecourt, both which seem more than capable of beating the Celtics on a good night.

I am waiting to see how the Celtics will be in the playoffs.
But if you asked me right now to bet between the Lakers and the Celtics in a best of 7 tomorrow, I'd bet on the Lakers, Green Kool Aid or not. I hope I'm wrong. :)

Ultimately all that matters are the playoffs, the regular season is rarely a precusor to what will happen. B

It was no different than here when LA trotted through the first few months. Thing is they've been relatively healthy all season unlike the C's.

I think everyone is really irked by the timing of the Celtics slump.

They had No.1 seed in the East, were above the Lakers, and in a matter of a few weeks they've lost all of that, and are now looking at a playoff first round against the athletic 76ers.

Lakers were slumping when no one really cared, they've caught up with SA after being 7 games behind, that's HUGE.

Also what is most concerning is that this slump seems to have happened after the trade, people are worried "What if this is what we are going to get" after the Perkins trade.

But didn't Boston roll of like 6 or 7 wins right after the trade?

Perk not being here is only a very small part of why Boston is losing.

But the Celtics age is really showing. They get too tired in the 4th quarters and can't score anymore, just like in game 7 of the finals.

Looks like these Celtics will be remembered like the Detroit Pistons of a few years ago.

I hate being such a drama queen, anyone can prove me otherwise?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we're going to be remembered like the '04 Pistons.  I guess there are worse comparisons that could be made.  But this will always be the team that was good enough to get one but not good enough to be a dynasty.  We had opportunities, but the truth is the Big 3 got together just a bit too late in their careers to win multiple times.

Not to mention the fact that Chris Wallace made one of the worst trades in the history of the NBA and shifted the balance of power in the NBA for years to come.  The Lakers were pretty much guaranteed to win multiple championships once they got Gasol without giving up any meaningful pieces.

So, my question to both of you is - based off of what you see - are the Celtics done this year?

I already know what my answer is.

Absolutely not, they aren't done until they exit from the playoffs.

But there are a LOT of red flags popping up lately, and it's very concerning.
Okay, ask yourself this--the playoffs aren't round robin games, they are 7 game series. Do you think this team is going to lose 4 out of seven games to the same team? We're about 30 games over .500 and have only lost a season series to how many teams? 1?
In the east? I think we can win
VS the Lakers? No, I don't think we can. LA is a better team then Boston.

I think Miami has improved enough to beat Boston in a best of 7 and they might just beat the Lakers too!  If Chicago makes it to the finals they lose to the Lakers.

Umm what?

Of all the teams in the playoffs, I'm the least worried about the Heat.

They need Bosh, Lebron AND Wade to all have +80% of the scoring to win games. If they don't show up they usually lose.

Bibby is their main point guard (a defensive black hole) and their offense is mainly isolation, which the Celtics excel at defending.

I'm more worried about the 76ers than the Heat frankly. Of course I could be wrong. :)

well i hope you are right, it would be nice to see Miami get bumped out in the first round, I'm concerned that they have improved quite a bit and they can beat us in the second round, especially without a mean force in the middle that we are lacking... and I don't want them to be able to hang their hats on that and say they pushed us around.

Try harder. ;)

Seriously though, I can understand the frustration and I share some of it. But I've resigned myself to the fact that we can't win on back to back nights because we are an aging team that is perhaps looking to conserve some extra gas for the playoffs. The vicious cycle of injuries is not helping either.

We missed a lot of shots we normally make.

A few layups and point blank shots didn't go down.

That's the point, we don't make those shots anymore. You should say "we missed a lot of shots we normally miss, too."

Well Boston isn't better than LA right now. And that is a fact. Anything said contrary to that would simply be lies. I personally can't respect being such a homer to the point where you refuse to admit the truth. And that goes for all teams.

But in the beginning of the season when the Lakers switch was in the off position there were lots of threads on Lakers Ground saying we were the best team in the NBA, it would be impossible for them to beat us in a series and one of my personal favorite threads over there was about us being able to go on a 14 game win streak and the Lakers being unable to do so.

Wow...that 14 game win streak seems like a lifetime ago...SMH. If this team goes down in history compared to the 04 Pistons that would be embarrassing. Couldn't even put up an argument with anyone who said it was a fluke because that is exactly what its looking like. A fluke that got the fans all excited making us think we were the next dynasty. Even worse to have the Lakers tie us in banners and then surpass us in the near future....it wasn't supposed to happen like this  :'(

Ok - I'll admit it:

The Los Angeles Lakers are better than The Boston Celtics - Right Now.

I'm getting a headache actually admitting that. Thanks GrandTheft ;D

But as we all know - titles aren't won in April. Ours will be won in June - and I hope it is at the expense of the Los Angeles Lakers.

So you're saying that if the Celts get to the finals they have no chance barring injuries? Haha.
