how much money was left on the balance of Harangody's contract? cant have been more then 200k. also i thought he was a free agent at the end of the season? even if what im reading is right and he is owed $788,872 next year that is still not that much in terms of NBA money. i really wish we had kept Erden and cut Harengody, if we got to a point where we needed that 3rd roster spot we could have cut Erden then, but honestly having a health big would have been better then Sasha

His contract is guaranteed for next season.  Trading Harangody also saved luxury tax.  So, that's $1.5 million they saved for next year.  I believe there are also some mild luxury tax savings this year because it is based on your roster on the last day of the season.

Erden has played only one game since being traded and Cleveland has said he could miss the rest of the season, so it would probably be a mistake to count on Erden playing in any "what-if" scenarios.
