Hope I'm wrong, but the way these guys are playing we're dead meat in the first round.....maybe it is just as well.

Get rid of load of dead weight that is killing us and get some BIG HEALTHY centers.

Just like we were last season. I mean, even said Bill Simmons we wouldn't get out of the 1st round!

Oh, wait a second.....

The Celtics were 8-4 with Perk this year.  27-9 with Shaq.

We'll be fine

I'm with you--the whole notion is a tad ludicrous.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Was Kendrick Perkins playing when we had that awful stretch last year around this time?

Yeah. This is this team's MO.

Also, the team was already showing signs of losing their good play before the All-Star game.

No, this is entirely on the Big 4 and their crappy play, even when they play with Davis, who has been with them since the beginning.

Yea but we are missing Perkins.

Celtics without Perkins are like the Cavs without LeBron.

Were going to struggle beating teams, simple as that.

that right there is probably the funniest thing I've ever read on these forums.
What makes it so funny is that you actually believe it.
I just can't believe some of the stuff I read here.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

For what it's worth... Celtics are 13-1 in games where Shaq plays at least 22 minutes... which is what I'd expect him to get in the playoffs when they aren't saving him

5-3 when Perk played at least 22 minutes.... including a loss to the Lakers... and for what it's worth... a 5 point loss to the Bobcats... ;) ... which also happened to be his season high in minutes (35)

I really and truly hope Shaq turns out to be everything that everyone is hoping he is. The amount of weight being put on this one man that managed to play limited minutes in 31 games this season is just mind boggling.

The numbers don't lie--with Shaq in the line up our fg% goes up, our pts per game increase, and we win games.

Would you rather put that weight on a man who managed to play limited minutes in 12 games this season?  ;)

Yup. He was a part of a starting 5 that never lost a playoff series.
