Haha....love that video and the music is so perfect. One thing I love about the guy is that he's not afraid to be silly.
OOOOOh Yeaaaah!! You go Big Baby!

I think he is worth at least 8 million per year and probably more in the future.

8 mil/yr ? :o

He isn't worth more than 4-5/yr imo...and if he demands any more than that, I think Danny will and should let him walk.

I think that's what he's going to get paid. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong next season. I don't have a crystal ball, but yes, it's what I think.

No, I'm just like the majority here who think he's one of our key players.

That's cool.  I get it.  I used to have quite a bit of enthusiasm for a former Celtic that I call "KG34" and really thought "KG34" would be a key player for us for a long time.

Who knew?

Yeah, I'd say 4-5 mil.

The fact that Doc always plays him with the starters at the ends of games say a lot. And when our score is down, he always puts in Baby to lift the defense and bring us some points. When the game is on the line, he puts Baby in there....every time.

Some might say that has a lot to do with the flaws of various non-KG Celtics bigs of the recent past and present.

$4-5 million a year would certainly be palatable.

I just think its going to take more than that to resign him and why I think he'll end up elsewhere.  I certainly don't see Ainge tossing $8 million/year his way.  I think that's a bit of a high but some team should offer him in the vincinity of $6-7.

I suspect players like BBD might be the ones most negatively affected by a new CBA, as there will be less money or years available in the MLE, and any tightening of the cap will squeeze out the middle of salary range as stars and filler dominate rosters until things get settled out and teams adjust.

I would agree with that.

It'll be really interesting to see what the landscape of the NBA is going to be going forward with what comes out of a new CBA.

Great point.  It's possible that teams that are committed to huge payrolls are more limited in what they can add, and the poorer/suckier teams get more flexibility?  Or those teams that are more flexible now will be better positioned to adjust, and thus stay competitive?  Could the Heat and other teams with multiple huge, long contracts be stuck for a couple of years?  Will a million dollars become a lot of money again?

Baby has been the guy to step in when the starters are off of their game (which has been ALOT lately) and has done an admirable job scoring, rebounding and playing his unique defensive game. He's also one of the main reasons we're the best defensive team in the east. If you let Baby walk, you will regret it.

The fact that Doc always plays him with the starters at the ends of games say a lot. And when our score is down, he always puts in Baby to lift the defense and bring us some points. When the game is on the line, he puts Baby in there....every time.

No one reaches their ceiling after 3 1/2 years in the NBA. The announcers last night, as horrible as they were, were even commenting on how our starters games have been the best of their careers and how they have gotten better over the years.

Most of the sports writers (I read alot of what they write), love Baby and consider him a major factor in our run to the Championship. Most say that without him, we would not be able to win.

So I'm going to go with what my eyes tell me, with what Doc thinks, and with what professional sports writers think and say to keep him at all costs. I think he is worth at least 8 million per year and probably more in the future.

I agree. +1 TP for you, my friend.

I love him, too - that's why I hope he can come back, and I hope Danny somehow gets it done.

I have looked at three guys as being emotional leaders of this team  over the years - Perk, KG, and Glen. Well, Perk is now gone and he will be missed in that capacity.

We all know Glen's limitations, but boy when he is plugged in (which is most of the time), he can be and has been huge for us.

I have seen money figures in this thread in the vicinity of 6-8 mil. I certainly believe he is worthy of something in that range. Just looking at him out there on the floor hustling (especially in the NOH and NY games), reminded me of how important he is now to this club.

Perk is now gone, but thank God we still have Glen. We need his emotional leadership as well as his talent. He will continue to come up big for us between now and June.
