I wouldn't take Charle's word as gospel.  He has known to be wrong once or 4,000 times.  Having said that, they are gassed but I think its more the injuries than age.  And as Roy said, integrating all these new players is tough.  We had 5 new guys on the court at once against LA, not sure about tonight, but what other team has to do that right now?? Key questions:

Can we survive while we are beat up
Can we integrate new guys
Can we stay ahead of the Lakers.  Think we can be Chicago on the road.  Don't feel as good having to play games 6 and 7 in LA.

  • Thank you Eddie!
Their bench still isn't healthy.  We're still missing BBD, Shaq, West, Wafer, and I'll even count JO at this point.  Murphy isn't giving us anything, and Pavlovic isn't that much better.  I don't know why you expect just the starters to play 40 minutes a game like it's the playoffs all the time and never have an off night or two.

  • GOT IT!!!
I think the starters are tiring a bit. All these extended minutes due to injuries will catch up to those old legs eventually. I don't think it's all doom and gloom though. The bench just needs to get healthy and quick.

The bench wont be fully healthy until the Playoffs, this is the team we have to work with until then.

Maybe. I think we'll see some guys trickle back into the rotation before then though.

Can anyone imagine Perk still recuperating and no Krstic at this point?

So, Megatron....your posts look similar to what a lot of us were thinking last year around this time...even me to a point.

I bet MIA, CLE and ORL...even LA - did not think of us as old last year.

Especially after we basically dominated CLE and ORL rather handedly.

The Boston Celtics will be fine. Far too early to count them out.

After all, someone has to beat Boston in a Seven Game series, right?

The bench needs to get back quick or the starters aren't going to have any time to get their legs back under them for the playoffs

Wouldn't have changed the result...lose by 1 point or 7 points or whatever...it still counts as only one loss. With him we would have one less player to integrate into our system....this is not a knock on Krstic..he played very well tonight...but I don't see why you have to bring up Perk every chance you get...most of the people here are trying to move on..why try and stir up a dying debate.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
It's Krstic's fault...he forgot to fill the tank.

No, the team is not out of gas, the Big 2 seem to be though (Ray & KG).

I don't think Pierce is out of gas.  I think he just had a bad game against Iggy.  He's been playing great.

I'm not that worried.

1) I do think the team is tired.  While I support Danny resting Shaq, BBD, and West to some extent, he also needs to ask himself at what point is overplaying the Big Three more of a detriment than not having those guys at 100% for the playoffs.  Still, if those guys get back soon, it's a moot point.

2) I do think the team is a bit indifferent.  And I think that's a product of the aforementioned stance by DA and management.  It's awfully tough for a team to leave their heart on the floor for a game like this when management is sitting players that they are openly admitting would be playing if it was a playoff game (i.e. an important game).

3) I think the new guys hurt lack of cohesion hurts.  That should improve.  More importantly, most of the guys who got minutes tonight likely won't sniff the floor in the playoffs.  I could see Murphy and/or Pavlovic not even making the active roster, Arroyo won't likely see the floor, and even Krstic could see his time dramatically cut (if Shaq starts, Baby plays some 5, and/or JO comes back).

This sucks, but after last season, I'm not willing to raise an alarm.

However, I hope they don't blow the #1 seed and have to play the Sixers again.  We'll beat them; however, a team like the Pacers will be much easier.

I didn't catch the game tonight but some of you guys are ridiculous can we get some healthy bodies back before we determine the team is out of gas or the season is over?

Our 4 stars have played roughly 4 more minutes on average in February verses January.   If we get them back to the January minutes we should be fine.  Ray especially looks like he could use some extra rest.   We are just going through a tough stretch, not opponent wise, but with just so many injuries and intergrating so many new players.

We basically have the big 4, 5 brand new players, and the rookie Bradley available.  Once we get at least West and Baby back we'll be fine.
