Really?  Cavs would be crazy to flip that too.

Thoughts:
1. Primarily this is about free roster spots, i'd guess. We need a center: Murphy? D-League: Courtney Sims? Sean Williams?

2. If this is an unconditional 2nd rounder, it could be the 31st pick, right? that's probably in and of itself more valuable than Erden/Harangody.

[dang] it, everyone was right when they said the Celtics would be back in the lottery in 2012. ;)

Yeah, I see that now.  If so, this goes from a total "what the hell?" to an absolute steal long-term that may or may not hurt us this year depending on how those spots get filled.

But man, it'll definitely hurt us tonight.

Ainge has to know something that hasn't been leaked yet.  He wouldn't just completely hurt the team that is currently percentage points below the Heat for the top spot in the conference and hurt our title chances for this year...He knows this team's window is extremely limited and wants to win now...There's got to be something else going on.

Waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Might take a week or two though, once the buyouts shake out.

It's gotta be Murphy, and if so, I think Danny did some great things today. It's not the Clippers pick btw, its a second, or atleast that's what is being reported.

The Clips pick is coming from OKC, not Cleveland. It's part of the Perkins-Green trade. It's top-10 protected for several years.

The Clippers pick is from the Perk deal.  OKC owned that, I think from the Bledsoe trade.

Oh I get it now - Cavs got the Clips 2011 first in the Baron deal.  That wasn't part of this trade.

Thunder had the Clips 2012 first, and that's part of the Perk deal.

So that makes the Perk deal much more palatable, and this is still just a space-clearer.

There has to be a handshake agreement with Murphy and somebody else (Sheed?  A 3rd string wing?)  for this to make sense.  Have to wait and see I guess.

I think that is a mistake. Clips gave Cleavland their 2011 1st round pick in the Davis for Mo Williams trade. That will be a top 10 pick, even though the draft will really suck this year.
