Sigh.   I thought it was just the flu.....

Seriously, I hope it is nothing serious!

dear God that explains a lot. i sure hope he attends the All star game and watches
I think Pierce has to sit out five games if he doesn't participate in All-Star weekend.

Something like that anyway ... that is the rule, right? To stop stars from taking the weekend off to rest up.

Don't worry Doc's the coach!  Paul Pierce - DNP  coach's decision.

They can just give him a quick run out, 2-3 minutes, and leave it at that.

I think that is their best option if they want to give some extra rest.

well, paul probably shouldn't play in the ASG. this might explain his 0-fer today. he actually had decent looks.

The NJ game would be a great opportunity to give our older guys some rest, and allot some serious playing time to the young guys...maybe boost their potential value in the eyes of others a bit, and possibly figure out who we'll cut to bring in SF help after the all-star break.

Well, if we had a bench I'd agree. But it looks like we'll need every game we can get to stay on top of the east.

i expect we have seen the last of PP until after the all star break. give him the game off vs the nets

Who do you start against the Nets, then?  Not disagreeing with you, but that would be tough... do you start Wafer and Ray at the wings?  With Delonte just returning, that likely means Bradley and/or Gody are in for significant (15+) minutes.

Start rondo, von and ray....bring in nate, delonte, baby and you could get away playing gody against the nets...actually...i might start Gody at SF

No, no Gody at the 3: the Von Wafer era begins!

Couldnt have happened at a better time.

Pierce has his annual injury.

Only one left to have an injury and miss time is Ray Allen.

 pierce doesn't seem to concerned:

"Right now, I'm just battling a couple minor injuries to my hand and my foot," said Pierce. "So I think that really explains my tentativeness and my off-shooting today. I told [Celtics coach] Doc [Rivers] that I really didn't have it today but I just tried to grind it out and thank goodness we came out with a win."

3 of 5 of our starters are ripe. I hope Pierce has to sit out 5 games because of the All Star Game rules. Screw the home court. The playoff wars are going to test our endurance enough. We are a very good road team.

Personally I wouldn't mind Paul missing that All-Star game. I'd rather he just get well...sit out a few games to get right. March will be here before we know it, and we'll definitely need him down the stretch.
