Does anyone have a link to the KG screen in question? because there is nothing, absolutely nothing legal about Wade's screen, so i'm not sure how any other screen could be more illegal, short of it being a one-armed clothesline. I watched the highlight on ESPN's recap multiple times: Davis is moving in one direction, and Wade is coming directly opposite, does not set his feet to establish postion, plants, raises both arms, leans into the approaching davis, and extends his arms at chest height.

I believe ESPN highlights show KG's screen in the 3rd quarter, as Wade got a flagrant 1 foul right after the play.

Yeah, that last screen by Wade was blatantly illegal.  I think it was left uncalled due to the unwritten rule of allowing serious contact in last-play situations, but there's no question it was a violation.

KG's screen on Miller was probably also a violation  (he leaned in with his shoulder to hit Miller harder) but it was nowhere near as blatant as Wade's, and within the range of what the refs (sometimes) allow.

So screens are only legal now if you come into them with an emphatic jump stop?!

Miller got blown up because his team didn't call out the screen

My favorite part of the replay on that sequence was Wade yelling "Screen RIGHT!!" as Miller was already halfway to the floor.  Probably part of why Wade was frustrated enough to take a shot at KG immediately afterward.

Dont you mean " If only Perk could set illegal screens like Wade and get away with it"   just like D Wade.

I want more then just illegal screens.  I want the screen where you can throw you weight into someone.

??????

I'm pretty sure I didn't say that. But i'm pretty sure you have to have your feet set to set a screen. Is there really debate here?

yes, thanks. KG's screen is early; start at teh 12 second mark or so and it happens at about 25 seconds. Wade's screen happens around 1:22. Honestly, KG's screen is barely illegal. He's fully set, but dips his shoulder a little. It was probably only called because the game was getting chippy at that point so the refs were expecting retaliation. Wade's screen has literally zero legal things about it.

KG's screen wasn't called a foul.  Ray's shot was good and then Wade got the (probably excessive) Flagrant-1 for retaliating.

Yeah and agree, it was excessive. In the chat people were saying Wade threw an elbow at Garnett's head and missed, but to me it looks like he gave him a weak sauce shoulder check and Garnett sold it a little. There wasn't any real malice in Wade's "retaliation".

oh, my mistake. Good, because it would have been a borderline call at best.

Yeah, it was clearly retaliation, my question is why it was a flagrant and not a technical, while KG's shot to Frye's happy place was a technical.  Does anyone know what the difference was between those?

Yeah, KG is selling a lot of calls this year it seems like.  Wade did shove with his arm as part of the shoulder check but that wasn't a bow to the head.

I think it was a clear foul on Wade but should've been the "split And-1" variety where Ray's bucket counts and KG gets one free throw.

I think KG's shot to Frye was looked at more as "unsportsmanlike". Like if you flicked a guy in the eye. I guess people can debate on how hard KG actually hit Frye but to me it was more of a tap.

Dwade's hit was more physical force and dangerous. I think what
Dwade did could actually injure someone where again IMO KG's was a tap
