Kevin Love is only 6'7" !!!

 6'7" and 3\4 to be exact, he did have a 35 inch vertical. White men can jump!

But holy moly who thought the leading rebounder in the NBA, would not even stand 6'8". Impressice K Love.

 I guess size isn't everything.

Ben Wallace isn't 6'8", and he too averaged 15.5 RPG in a season and led the league twice.

Rebounding, like all other aspects of the game, is an art.

Firstly, NBA players "listed" sizes, (and weights), are hardly ever the truth, so I take them with a grain of salt ... and you're right, size isn't everything ... Spud Webb won the Slam-Dunk Contest, Nate Robinson won it more than once, and Rajon Rondo is an excellent rebounder. Love is an awesome baller, and it's going to be a lot of fun watching him develop in the years to come.

Yup, the fundamentals of rebounding has really fallen by the wayside.  Our own Shaq doesn't do a good job of boxing out, BBD has always had awful form, and Semih tries boxing out while directly under the hoop (which is futile lol).  I think Perk and Pierce do a decent job.

The only height listings I tend to believe come from Draft Express's reports of pre-draft measurements.  KL's 6'7 3/4" without shoes and 6'9 1/2" with shoes puts him within common PF range.

I met some NBA guys when I was 17.  Though only 6'5" or 6'6" in sock feet then I was as tall if not taller than the 6'8"  NBA guys.  Cornbeard isn't 6'8"  but McHale and the Chief towered over me.  While taller than most they still look big to those of average height or less and those under 6' probably can't guess height as well as they think they can.  But I think its all the more marvelous that they can do the dunks being shorter. Physicals are supposed to be done in sock or bare feet.   I often hear but shoes add 1-2" inches.   Shoes do not add 2" ever.  No basketball sole is that thick.  Those of you who think they add 2" of height need to post a show with a 2" sole.   Bball players don't play in high heel shoes, folks.

I think all pro sports exaggerate.  I recently saw a commercial with Troy Aikman and Hulk Hogan.  Keep in mind that Aikman was listed at 6'4" and Hulk was listed a 6'8"  but Hulk was much shorter ion the commercial.  Age doesn't make peeps shrink 4" or more.

Rebounding is a lot of mental stuff too.  Wanting the ball and reading angles can't be underestimated.  Boxing out while important is only one factor.  Good rebounders anticipate, box out their man and zip to the ball.  Rodman was probably the best ever at zipping to the ball that I have seen.  Rondo is good at it too.

They certainly are grabbed below the rim but most bounce above it to be honest.

Charles Barkley, the "round mound of rebound" I have read is in reality 6'3" maybe 6'4" but a truly great rebounder.

If Kevin Love is only 6'7", then Luis Scola must be 6'6". I watched both of them side by side in the game last night, and KL is definitely an inch or so taller than Luis.

I thought Luis was listed at 6'9"?
