I just have to say that I am sick of all the negative comments and the negative image that Garnett has been getting lately. I don’t think the problem is KG at all, he may talk trash and give some nudges here and there but so what? I think this hatred on KG is another example of how this country is being populated by wussies and men that act like females. So what if he swears up and down the court and is physical, man up and take it, where is the thick skin? He hasn’t tried to rape anyone (Bryant, Roethlisberger) hasn’t hit his wife (Wade) never was accused of murder (Lewis) didn’t run a dog fighting ring (Vick) and he isn’t a egocentric tool that totally slapped a city in the face (James) yet most of those guys have a better image then Garnett. I just don’t get it people like Noah and Frye and whoever else cant take his foul mouth really needs to grow a pair…..

I agree. I think the bigger judge of character is what he does OFF of the court. Very few players are saints while on the court that is for sure.

I agree that the players who cry about him being "mean" need to grow some.

But I've never been the world biggest fan on KG. I like how the guy throws it out on the line every game. I'm happy that he plays for us and as helped us win a championship and could help with more.
But I've always looked at him as a little blow fish. Always puffing up and acting like a bad man but never doing anything about it. And he's always doing it to a fish that's smaller then he is. I find it fake.

I can see why other teams fans and players could hate the guy. If he was on another team I'd not like him. And if he was on the Lakers I'd despise him. But he's a Celtic, so just like Sheed and Shaq, I'll just put my green colored glasses on and pray for number 18.
Peace through Tyranny

What is he supposed to do throw punches and get suspended? That is helpful to the team ::)

KG in the past has gotten into it with Perk (when he was in Minny of course), Big Al, Dwight Howard, Amare, Tim Duncan, Joakim Noah to name a few. Of course most choose to ignore that...

Well because the NBA is weak now and you can't do that then I'd say no. But he could stop acting like an idiot too. Or get into a really big guys face sometime rather then some small guy.
The thing is, KG try's to act physically intimidating and he's not. I'd like to see him do some of his stuff to teams of the past and see what happen.
Peace through Tyranny

I can see what that probably looked like. He puffed up, got in their face and put his arms up and waled off barking like a little dog?

Oh, and he was probably the one who started it in the first place?

I don't hate KG. But I've never been the worlds biggest fan of the guy. And I can see why many people can't stand him.

Anything else gets you ejected and suspended from what I can tell. This isn't the 80s. All players have to be fake tough guys or get into real trouble.

This is true and I wish it still was the 80's. But not all guys act fake tough. Many of them don't put on a show like that.

I haven't seen ANY other 7-footer go after the opponents' point guards like he has.

So what if there's been a few instances of altercations with big guys - it's the frequency of the crap he starts with the Calderons and Bareas that define him...

We'll eventually have to face it. KG is a throwback and times are changing.

This is more society changing than anything. KG is one of the last remnants of when being mean is normal.

Guys like Dwight Howard and Joakim Noah are part of a generation who grew up with mercy rules, positive reinforcement and non-competitiveness in youth sports.

An atmosphere wherein players are not allowed to press when they are up by 20, scoreboards being turned off when the point difference is 40+, etc....

A day wherein a loud screaming coach is asked to tone things down, and fans are not allowed to "boo" in middle school leagues.

I'm stating a fact, not saying whether one way is wrong or right. But we are seeing the results on the court. KG is suddenly a big meanie, and top athletes easily getting their feelings hurt.

This is exactly what has happened. TP

Give me a break. KG is equal oppurtunity 'mean' or whatever you want to call it. It is just that ignorant fans pick and choose what they want to remember. We all do it against players we don't like. If it is what 'defines' him on a NBA court then it is pretty unfair considering it is not completely true.

KG is fake tough!! He doesn't even bring in guns into the locker room!! If KG were really tough he would meet players after the game in an ally by the garden and throw down like the true tough NBA players!!
