Anyone else think Reggie regrets not taking Danny Ainge up on his offer and coming out of retirement in 2007 to be a Celtics bench player?

Not for the sake of his record, but the simple fact that he would have won a ring.  I was thinking about this last night when Mike Breen asked Marc Jackson who he thought was the better player.  I think Ray is the obvious choice, but I was doing a quick comparison of the two, and one thing you can say about Ray right off the break is that hes got a ring.  That doesnt make him a better player, I just think Ray has a better all around game than Reggie did, but people definitely use rings as a way to separate players from one another, just ask Dan Marino.

Nah, I think Reggie's a pretty secure guy.  Plus he more than likely would have been a shadow of the player he once was. He must have known that.

I don't think so either.  He was very confident that his body could handle a comeback and that he was in good enough shape to pull it off so that wasn't the problem.  If that wasn't the case I could definitely see him regretting the decision but I guess he just didn't want to do it.

Even if he was as good as he was in his last season I don't think he would have been much help.  Eddie and Posey turned out pretty good and I'm not sure he even would have beat out old Sam Cassel.  Perhaps better than Darius Miles or an injured Tony but that's about it.

Darius did give out one of my favorite quotes that summer.  "I'd play for the Celtics for 10 dollars and a bag of doritos."

Hahaha. I loved, absolutely loved this guy when he was drafted. And he was so fun to watch in Clipperville for like...two years... lol. I really wish this guy had turned into something special.

I think he prides himself on the fact that he never gave up on Indiana. I respect him for that.

Ray is a better defender than Reggie ever was folks.   Neither is a lock down but Ray has done some good defense for us.   I just want the dang thing to be over and him to break the record.   Its a distraction we don't need.
