Two guys I like here, and I'm going back and forth.
Screw it, give me J.J. Redick. I'm sure by the time tomorrow's pick comes around, I'm going to be regretting this.
Nothing wrong with that pick. Phil Jackson will play him as a point guard. I needed a guy that could give me minutes at center otherwise I would've taken a hard look at Redick.
Definitely -- Redick would be very effective at the point guard position in the Triangle offense.
Not much difference between him and Chauncey in terms of effectiveness at the position. Personally, I would trade Chauncey for an upgrade elsewhere. Possibly another big man. Someone who can do what Lamar Odom has done off the bench for LA over the past few years.

Edit: Just to change this comment a bit. I wasn't clear before + to expand on it.
Chauncey would still be the superior player vs Redick as a point guard. I just don't see the gap as being that large ... compared to the gains that could be made at another position by trading Chauncey.
I think Chauncey's ability as a floor general is almost entirely negated by the Triangle offense. He still keeps the same value as a scorer, playmaker, rebounder and defender. As a result, I think he drops from being a top 10 PG (probably 7th or 8th) to somewhere in the 15th range (Devin Harris territory).
Chauncey would still have an advantage over Redick in terms of shot creation because of his post game + with his passing in the paint off of dribble penetration.
I think Redick could match Chauncey's perimeter shooting, overall scoring efficiency, ball movement + entry passes and possibly (not certain, hasn't spent enough time defensively at PG) do a comparable job in terms of defense and rebounding (Chauncey has slipped quite a bit here over the last few years, closer to average than the high level defender he was a few years ago).
I think Redick would have as much value as a PG you'd expect to find in the 17th-22nd range. Probably chime in with 15-16ppg on a plus 60% TS% combined with (hopefully) average defense/rebounding.
That is my take on it anyway.
