I feel as if, the Celtics were playing bored the first 3 quarters, then Pietrus p---ed off Garnett by shoving him (the flagrant 1),

that kind fired up the Celtics and you see the furious comeback, well...kinda comeback by the Celtics where we cut it to 9 from a 17-18 point deficit?

Then when things got really serious, it seems like the ref bailed the PHO out...

I'm not blaming the ref, the first 3 qt were physical and the Celtics clearly lost this one themselves by their play in the first 3 qt...

I certainly would - while it was a sad display of garnett's lack of class, it hardly could be considered worthy of suspension

I've been watching other videos of the play and a lot of talk has been of KG's hit or tap to the groin of Frye, which obviously didn't really hurt; though that doesn't make it okay.

What seems much worse to me after watching again, is the way KG placed his foot directly under where Frye was going to land, and thus, Frye landed on his foot. This seems much worse and a lot dirtier since it can cause injury.

Apparently, KG did this to him twice and at this second time, along with the hand to the groin, the combination infuriated Frye and that's why he jumped up so fast into KG's face.

I don't like any of our players to play dirty and risk the health of any player because it's just plain sleazy and completely unnecessary when a truly good player does not need to resort to dirty tactics.

And I am not hating on KG because I do love him as a player, but lost some respect for him last night.

Wow! Can't believe all this "disgusted" talk about our Celtics. Do you really think Doc should have been thrown for clapping??? Like Van Gundy said, the ref should have walked away from the scorers table in the opposite direction of Doc. Instead he looks right at him just waiting for something else.

If KG got thrown for talking back, why wasn't 2 Phoenix guys thrown for the high elbow and the head butt??? If someone taps you in the nuts are you gonna fall like you just got kicked in them and then get up and head butt somebody like you just had a miraculous recovery??? Some serious acting going on there. And KG walks away from the refs after the altercation gets separated. And yet he gets 2 T's for talking trash to the refs?

Being disgusted with KG and Doc??

Really???

Now I'm disgusted.

I hate how so many people on this blog just wait to bash on KG.

You lost respect for him? He is dirty? He slid his leg on "purpose"? Okay... ::)

This is basketball...not dancing with the stars. There is no such thing as a "classy" play on a basketball court. It's a physical game....and there will be accidental contact often.

It's hard to believe KG might have deliberately hit the guy there

Why?

Ever had someone submarine you on a jumper in a pick-up game?

There is a line between "contact" and "dirty."  KG crossed that last night.

Come on KG wasn't even looking at his lower part of the body, hell not even upper part he was looking up at the ball.

This is all absurd to me, especially the Celtics fans who are so quick to turn on Garnett or the team in general. First of all it's clear that Javie had it in for the Celtics last night, he tossed Doc as if he had been planning it all week. Then we get to Frye's antics who acted like somebody shot him and then bounced right back up and appeared to feel well enough to get in Garnett's face. In my opinion Garnett barely touched him and if he did it was unintentional. Garnett is one of the best defenders ever so of course his feet and body are going to be within close proximity of the offensive player, making it likely that their legs could tangle or that the offensive player could land on his foot. The alternative to that would be to back up and give the shooter plenty of space and comfort to get his shots off. Then the refs reviewed the play and decided to dish out a plethora of technicals to the Celtics team and just one to Frye, who was the instigator. That imbalance there was proof enough that the refs didn't want any part of a Celtics win.

I hate blaming refs for anything, but that game was an embarrassment.  I don't think it actually changed the outcome of the game, but Javie clearly had an axe to grind, and was determined to get his point across.

I am glad he chose to do it in a meaningless game where the C's really were not going to win anyways, just because they didn't have the legs...but the league needs to get control of these guys.  That was just an embarrasment.

As Doc said over and over to Javie after on his way to the lockerroom..."It's all about you."

What is disgusting to me is how so many fans are quick to jump all over KG. KG lets see got elbowed in the head/throat area by pietris and head butted by Frye. That apparently is ok. But KG does anything and gets absolutely ridiculed here. Unbelievable.  ::)

Exactly. KG is being accused of a "dirty" play when he wasn't even looking at Frye...his eyes were on the ball.

Maybe it's because he talks trash..so, people just find it easy to assume that it was a "dirty" play. I don't think it was intentional or dirty in any manner. I guess he is just an easy target for a few people here. Some dislike for him from his Timberwolves days is still lingering for some people.
