Celtics/Cavs trade idea

What do you guys think? The Cavs season is clearly a train wreck. Maybe they at least consider this?

Celts get Antwan Jamison and Anthony Parker
Cavs get Jermaine, Nate, Harangody and Glen Davis.

Checks out on trade machine. I think Jamison and Parker would be money for the Celts down the stretch.

The biggest problem I see is that it sticks them with JO's salary for next year. Why would they add worthless salary for next year?

Because it clears Jamison's $15 million contract from their books, I'd say.

I wouldn't do this trade.  I don't see a huge net difference between BBD and Jamison right now, when you take Jamison's horrible defense into account.

Detroit gets - Big Baby, Nate Robinson, Avery Bradley.


I dont know why either side should/shouldn't do it, i just know it worked in the trade machine and B. Wallace is healthier than JO!

complete refacing of the Pistons if you include the Melo deal in there

Detroit - Stuckey,Gordon,Marquis,BBD, JO
Murphy, Petro, Jerebko, Robinson, Bradley

Celtics - Rondo,Ray,Pierce,KG,Shaq
Will,Tmac,Prince,Wilcox,Perk,West,Ben,Semih,Harangody

Call it a crazy trade but we'd be DEEP in every position with talent. Our starting 5 would be able to play 30mpg or less against most all teams.
Will is better pg than Nate. TMac or Prince over Quis, and Wilcox can play more than 20 games in a season. Big Ben is added but probably not needed since Prince can play the 4 and Wilcox the 5.

Q:  Should the C's be willing to take on long-term contracts if it makes the team stronger this year and improves the chances of #18, or stand firm on flexibility for the future?

Another way to look at it:  Has Danny done so well that the C's can afford to risk one (or two) bad contracts down the line for a better shot now?

I think maybe...yes.

And it might be worth trying to get in on whatever deal Denver ends up doing.  The Cavs?  Not much I'm interested in there.

We have depth at the 2/3 with West and Daniels, so Parker isn't necessary. Granted West should see more time at PG without Nate, but he still is a 25-30 mpg rotation player. We also have Wafer who brings much of the same qualities as Parker (albeit smaller) for significantly less money.

As for Jamison, he is an overpaid undersized soft PF who lacks a lot on the defensive end. Not really too interested in him or anyone else on the Cavs.


I will say I'm open to trading that package of Celtics, but don't know exactly what it could fetch.

Washington isn't giving up McGee for BBD and 'Quis.
Detroit isn't giving up Maxiell for Nate and who?

I like the idea of trading for anthony parker. I think adding depth and a real solid defender at the 3 position would really help go against Wade, LBJ, and eventually Kobe. I would love to see Danny go after Pietrus who is probably available, but Anthony Parker fits the same mold. Both are very good defensive players who are also very good 3 point shooters. We could go with a bench guard/wing rotation of Delonte, Daniels, and Pietrus/Parker, assuming we trade Nate to get one of them. I like Nate, but I think adding a bigger defensive wing off the bench will be more valuable. He makes more than Parker and almost as much as Pietrus, enough fit in a one for one deal. Maybe Nate and a pick would get it done.
