  • Rondo = Good
Rose and Amare frankly deserve the All-Star starting spots more than Rondo and Garnett, but I think Rondo and KG will both still get voted onto the team, as will Ray and Paul.

if KG and rondo aren't voted in I hope the celtics boycots this allstar weekend, I don't care if this is only a popularity contest, the chicago and nyc fans are cheating and they don't deserve it,to have those two starting.
I've been voting each day the last two months, in the end it will be rigged and/or cheating involved. Besidees does anyone believe that the highest votes for players never reaches over 3 million or just above ? Do they honestly think in the US and WorlWide that Only 3 million fans votes ? It's a farse I will not vote anymore,it's useless and a waste of my time.

Boo!  I get the reasoning -- Amare and Rose are putting up huge numbers on playoff teams, while KG and Rondo have lesser stats and have been hurt recently -- but I'd love to see KG and Rondo get the start.

I'm always tempted to argue that Rondo should be an all-star, but I always realize what a meaningless and esoteric designation that is and catch myself in time.

yeah see that's the problem I have with this.  it makes me feel that they are less deserving. (esp the chicago fans)

Wait, how are they cheating in a popularity contest that encourages ballot-stuffing?

KG and Rondo are likely to get in no matter who starts.  Being voted in by the coaches is arguably a greater compliment than being voted in by the fans anyway.

The stuff they're advocating in the Bulls fan forums is more than a popularity contest. In my opinion, using 10minutemail.com to create hundreds/thousands of NBA.com accounts to vote, is considered cheating...

It might be, but then who's to say you can't do it yourself? Anyway, I think that Amare is very deserving for what he's doign for the Knicks, as well as Derek Rose.

It's amazing to see Blake Griffin's popularity, though...He surpassed both Nowitzki and Duncan, and is only behind Gasol in West Power Forwards. Hoping to see him connect with Chris Paul for some crazy alley-oops.

exactly..it really p---es me off that rondo was ahead for over a month but then its funny that they (chicago fans)start employing these ridiculous methods and he gets ahead. rubs me the wrong way.

I don't care about the all star game at all, don't watch it, useless etc
I hope whatever celtics can be voted on by fans so they can get bonus money etc BUT I'd really like rondo to sit out that weekend and try to heal the ankle(s).  He has no lateral speed, its very noticable  on the defensive end and especially when he plays against a fast pg.  KG is voted on, I hope he does the same, PP same as well.
We are after a championship.

Absolute ditto.

This is about as big a waste of time as that other silliness last summer that Rondo was going to play in.

Well, if the Chicago and NY fans are cheating, you know how the saying goes.  If you can't beat em', join em'.

Not that I like it, but, screw it, why should they get away with it?

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Sounds about right too me.

Both players are having MVP candidate type of seasons.

Derrick Rose is, in my opinion, one of the most overrated players in the league right now.  He'll eventually be good enough to warrant the hype he's getting, but right now he's nowhere close.

He's inefficient because he doesn't get to the line (unless he's playing the Celtics), he still struggles from outside, he's not a very good passer for a point guard and he doesn't play defense.  People see his jump-thirty-feet-in-the-air-up-and-under moves and think "WHOA!  MVP!!!".  He's a freak athlete and he makes some spectacular plays, but there's more to being a dominant player than that.

Agree with everything except "He'll eventually be good enough to warrant the hype he's getting".
