I'm not sure Charlie lied about the cancer stuff. But Charlie broke the player code. Much worse has been said on the court but it stayed on the court or was settled in the locker room/next game later. :o
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

To puposely ignore him like that just got Villanueva and the crowd that much more into it...

Villanueva was out of sorts and frustrated while Kevin was in the game. He made 2 early fouls, lost a rebound out of bounds, and had to leave the game.

I actually think it is Charlie V who should have apologized to Karl. When someone makes public something said to them personally and that results in people being hurt or offended, that is the fault of the person making things public. They are the one trying to hurt people's feelings and leverage that against the source of the comments.

Charlie V deserves no apology after he trying to use the press to make people hate KG. Especially since KG never initiates comments against other players in public. KG shows respect for everyone when talking to the press, which is the way it should be. No need to show people up when they aren't around. The NBA isn't high school.

At least when Noah talks about KG, I only hear him talking about offenses to other NBA players. The way Noah does it, it sounds like he is playing mind games with KG. Villanueva just sounds like a cry baby - like KG broke him.

He probably did call him a cancer patient... but that's just mildly viscous trash talk. Millions of worse things have been said. Charles was just a complete female dog about it so KG has feelings of contempt and disgust for him.
I don't think KG would lie.  He probably said something like "You are cancerous to your team and our league, and you look like a cancer patient too."
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

If he didn't lie then he's a cry baby tattle tale.   Either way there's no way KG is acknowledging him.  I'm sure people have called KG bad stuff. He never tweeted about it

Because Villanueva looks like a cancer patient and KG was worried that the cancer was contagious.

because KG thinks Charlie is a _____ for tweeting about it.

This.  I have to say that if KG said what he said I think it was in very bad taste but a lot of trash is talked out on the court and to do what Villanueva did by tweeting about it is really a bad move and not the right way to go about it.  KG doesn't have to shake his hand.  It was good on him to appologize to Karl because at least he wasn't showing disrespect to the condition and I'm sure he has known Karl for years and he is certainly a good guy.

So I completely understand the whole thing.  Ugly but it makes sense to me.

Thats pretty offensive and not funny.  Especially considering several of KG's family members have cancer.

Because Charlie V is a punk who is a cancer to the game of basketball, just like KG said. I wouldn't shake hands with someone who decided to be a rat on twitter...just shut up and play Charlie...if you're not cancerous to your team and the league, then prove it on the court and stop crying about it off the court.

Because what he said was correct about Charlie but, his
emotwitter postings made it seem like a slap in face at all cancer patients and KG being a good human being wanted to clarify his comments to Karl who appears to be 1000% x the human being Charlie the cancer V is.

the bad part about all this is how regular fans view KG now

a lot of folks had some level of dislike towards KG since he's always bullying Europeans and white players......but these cancer accusations took it over the top

instead of being viewed as the passionate, hardworking, selfless guy he is......all fans despise him with a passion

it sucks

Not really.  Most of the fans I speak too couldn't care less about it.  Most already hated him for cursing them out while beating them on nightly basis.

Who cares if he didn't apologize, I think its refreshing in this day and age to see players not hugging and playing with each other's butts.  I am a cancer survivor and it didn't offend me, people can say whatever they want.  Even if Kobe said it, it would not have bothered me.  Like it or not the word cancer has come to mean malcontent, troublemakers, etc, its part of our language now.

I actually think our guys will play better if hated.  I know I always preferred it and I think our road record last year better than home indicated this matter.

That is the nature of trash talking.
