I know there are a couple threads floating around on KG but this was a piece I have not read yet and felt I'd make a thread for it. It is from csnne and Dr. Neil Minkoff's take on the situation. While just an observation it is definitely refreshing to hear at least the ACL part:

I'm not yet convinced it's a bad ACL injury. Elite athletes who have had an ACL repair have a 5% rate of re-injury where they need another surgery. It could very well just be a ligament strain without a tear. It may not even be an ACL -- it could be another ligament like the ones that go down the edges of the knee. That would be consistent with the way his knee moved on the replay.  KG could probably play with a knee brace in that case.

I like how he walked off on his own. Last time, he needed help getting off the court. The grimace doesn't mean that much to me. That's not the look of pain. I've worked in ERs -- that's a face of fear. He's scared of losing another year and another chance at a championship.

X-rays won't show anything -- they don't really work for ligament injuries -- only for fractures. KG will need an MRI tomorrow.

I already posted that article/opinion piece in the game thread. This was before the Celtics said it was "muscle injury".

don't know what to think of this.  I didn't know anyone was even considering it an ACL injury.  And KG has never had an ACL injury, to my knowledge, so why mention the "5% chance" of re-injuring it?  the report has been that it is to the outside of his right leg, so wouldn't that be the opposite side to where the acl runs?

so much speculation, and no one has any idea.  i'm just hoping that KG's reaction was more out of fear than actual pain.  it is disconcerting that he seems to have a knack for injuring himself on non-contact plays, but it sounds like there is a chance he could only miss a few games, in which case it would just be a tweak.

with all these new revelations coming out, I still don't think he's quite out of the water yet. It almost seems like they're beating around the bush in an attempt to keep a positive light on things. Let the man get the proper diagnosis and then let him heal so we can have him when we need him most, PLAYOFFS!

This article was when they were saying it's just the lower leg and no one really. Everyone was thinking the worse and just hoping it wasn't ACL related.
