Just try to learn Algebra using a Chinese Algebra book!

Anyway, can't we allow for the possibility, as remote as this likelihood may be, that TA has a sense of humor and that he is simply mixing 2 independently complex tasks (learning Chinese and learning Algebra) and providing a somewhat ill-conceived, but right-spirited, metaphor for something that would be uber-complex.
