James Harden, Mo peterson, and a Pick for Iguodala.

Westbrook
Iggy
Durant
Green
Ibaka

or small ball:

Westbrook
Thabo
Iggy
Durant
Ibaka

Iggy played great alongside Durant and Westbrook this summer; he's instantly a #3 guy on that team instead of a #1, and Green has range, Durant has serious range; Iggy and westbrook are the slashers with Ibaka/Collison/Krstic hitting their 15 footers or so.

Now this trade I really like. The Thunder won't do it, b/c they're pretty dead set on being just OK, but it does make sense for both teams. The Thunder get a premiere wing defender, someone to run w/ Westbrook and a legit second scoring option. If they could swing Jeff Green for a defensive PF/C we might actually have a team that could legitimately contend w/ the Lakers.

For the Sixers, they get a proven starter w/ potential for growth - not to mention he's a much better fit for Turner, provided you believe in him , a draft pick and you save 7 mil in payroll. Might need another team to sweeten the deal for the 6ers, but I think the principles here are really great.

That being said, again, the Thunder are going to sit on their hands til their numb.

EDIT: Seems like the Kings would be a logical trade partner for OKC

I don't like this deal for OKC.  They don't need another wing, they need size.  Iggy would be wasted on that team, and they would be wasting assets that could be used to supplement a front court to make it happen.

They certainly need bigs, but they also need an ugprade defensively at the wing. Something Igoudala certainly would bring. And while Harden is somewhat of a chip, he's not nearly enough to land them a valued big.

Exactly.  Sefolosha is one of the best young, defensive wings in the league, and fits in perfectly with that team, because he does not need the ball in his hands at all.

Not to mention, Jeff Green is still playing out of position as a PF.  He is a very good defensive SF, and if they could upgrade the frontcourt, it would allow Green to slide in to his more natural position on the wing.

But again, why not take the upgrade if you can get it in Igoudala? You can tout the abilities of Sefolosha and Green - who very likely could be gone next season, but Iguodala is unquestionably a significant upgrade over James Harden for them and one that could potentially put them over the top.

Acquiring a big would be great for them, but again, there's not really a guy to be had out there. Which is why I suggested a smaller trade with the Kings.

Because I don't think it makes them a significantly better team, and ties their hand this summer.  Instead of having significant cap space to solidify their front line next summer, they would be likely right up against the cap, and therefore unable to address the gaping hole in the frontcourt, all for a minor upgrade to a position that didn't need the upgrade.

With how the Hornets are playing right now, they can get more for Paul.

Not sure about this particular deal (I think Hornets need more), but I love the trend of using Iguodala as part of bigger trades to facilitate a legitimate superstar going to a new team.  I think Iggy is one of those guys who can help teams recover from trading their marquee player away a little easier.  It makes it a lot easier to sell a deal like that to your fans when they are getting a young, borderline all-star, along with other assets, rather than just cap relief.

But what valuable big is available who couldn't be had w/ the MLE?

Quick look at ESPN list of free agents:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?page=FreeAgents-10-11

Nene (unrestricted)
Marc Gasol (restricted)
Greg Oden (restricted)
Sam Dalembert (unrestricted)
Tim Duncan (unrestricted)

Of that list, Gasol & Duncan are definetly upgrades for the Thunder over Igudala. But I wouldn't gamble on them.

Chandler, Perk, Landry, Nene, Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph, Dalembert...

And that doesn't even get into the guys who they could trade for using their cap space as an incredibly valuable asset (perhaps even more than normal, depending on how the new CBA works out).

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. You definitely have some valid points, but personally I take the hypothetical "sure thing" as opposed to hoping to attract these players to your team in the summer.

Plus, if Landry and Dalembert were truly something the Thunder would be interested in they could easily make a deal surrounding Green for either of the two players.
