Bucks can't cut it

Honestly I think these guys are on their last legs, they just dont have the talent to get it done in the revamped east. With them coming slow out of the gates they are looking at a season long uphill battle. Outside of the recovering Bogut, they dont have any offense. Maggette has been a career chucker that makes bad decisions, and even at that they are one of the worst, if not the worst offensive teams in the leauge right now.

Can these guys keep themselves in a position to make the playoffs?

I think teams like New York, and Indiana will eventually leap-frog the Bucks in terms of playoff viability, they certainly have the talent to be better than the bucks.

 
These are the current standings,obviously barring injury the top 5 teams are a lock, give or take a few swaps, but these teams are going to be in the top 5 at seasons end. So that leaves the 6,7,8 spot up for grabs, does anyone believe the bucks have a chance nabbing one of these positions? I cant see it right now.

Pretty much.  Bucks misused cap space by signing middling players (Salmons) when they lack a go-to player.  Bogut is a great 2nd option, but I don't think Jennings is consistent enough, either scoring or setting up, to be a leader on a top team either.

Bogut and Jennings:  Stuck in the middle with you.

I agree, I alo think its going to be a battle between Cleveland/Charlotte/Milwaukee for the 8th seed. I can see the Bobcats grabbing it late in the season.

I expect the Bucks offense to improve as the year goes on. It'll still be well below average (21st-26th) but not league worst.

Their defensive talent is very good. Once their offense improves, that defensive talent will separate them from the trailing pack. They should be a lock for a playoff spot in the East.

Sixth best team in the Conference talent wise.

Its early yet, I think they'll make the playoffs. Their defense is too good, I think they'll make the 7th or 8th seed in a similar manner to Charlotte last year.

Especially if Cleveland deals some of their older talent away at the deadline.

Don't quite understand the Bobcat's poor performance so far.  Coach Brown's defensive scheme funnels penetration to a shot-blocker, and they don't have one.  Seems as simple as trying out Dwayne Jones (currently in China) until something better comes along.

I have New York at .500 rather than above .500.

Around 41 wins, maybe a little higher, maybe a little lower, somewhere around there though.

I think Milwaukee should be a 45+ win team. Their defensive talent makes them a better overall team than NYC in my eyes.

I figured this would be the topic, but from reading the thread title a small portion of my body feared that Bango had died in some horrific stunt at some type of mall apperance. Very much relieved.

they simply need to hire danny ainge who will make their average players and potential future all stars seem even better and entice other teams to trade them hall of famers for good players and scrubs  ;)

Not the least bit surprised.  This team was incredibly overrated after they overachieved last year, and now their heads are a little too big to work as hard as they did last year.

Sad to say that NYC is still a bust team. Outside of Stoudemire and maybe Felton, the rest of that team is sorry. No legit leaders or locker room presences. On paper they look solid, but I think alot of their failures have to do with Coach D'antoni. His run and gun ZERO Defense system is as bad as Don Nelson, and look where he ended up.

Call me crazy, but I think Detroit makes the playoffs.

I know, terribly unbalanced roster, major coach-player disconnect, no defense, etc. Here's my thought: at least one of the three of Kuester, Prince, and/or Rip Hamilton will be gone by the trade deadline, if not sooner. And that's going to improve the play of the team markedly, either by making the players happier, or by shortening the rotation a bit, and giving more touches/minutes to Gordon and Stuckey.

I don't see how the nine-man rotation of Stuckey, Rip/Gordon, Prince/Daye, Maxiell/Villanueva, and Wallace/Monroe is worse than Charlotte's, Indiana's, or Cleveland's. That team ought to be running up and down the floor, perhaps even playing smallball with a Maxiell-CV frontcourt. I honestly think they can squeak into the 8th seed.
