who else is surprised by how nice shaq looked in his first game in Green yesterday? aside from the missed bunny here and there he looked really nice, pretty sure opposite of what most though that he'd be a blackhole out there

also who else thinks Shaq and Rondo as chemistry further builds are just going to be connecting constantly for easy buckets?? shaq even stated he has not played with a PG like Rondo for a while have that feeling we are going to get sooo much easy buckets from the 2 and its going to be a joy to watch

stay healthy big fella

I'm not surprised.

He did not look good on non-dunks, where I think he was like 0-3 on easy looks around the rim. He FTs were as bad as always.

He will be great for getting into the penalty and wearing down opponents. He will also be great on lobs from Rondo. Shaq has always been willing to run, though that does not mean he can move quickly laterally on his feet. He is also still tall.

What I have like best about him is that he is embracing his role. Having him on the team is a no-brainer if he keeps this attitude.

I think it would be awesome if shaq and rondo both started shooting free throws underhand.

I don't understand the unwillingness to try, when nothing else has worked. DUDE! you the man, no need to front.

would be awesome if they both showed up one game and started tossing them in underhand.

start a new "no front" trend.

I swear it seems as if none of you have seen Shaq play b4 now... I keep telling you that Shaq is a rhythm guy, he misses bunnies quite frequently when he has a good amount of time off, but when he gets a few games under his belt he shows you why he ALWAYS has one of the highest fg%! Give my husband time!

This is going to be a scary duo and I expect to see some highlights from these two throughout the season. I expect to see that low pick and roll with Rondo lobbing up an oop to Shaq many times this year.

I was pleasantly surprised by Shaq but in theory he and Rondo are a great combo due to Shaq's ability to finish and Rondo's penetration.

Right. I don't think alley-oops from Rondo to Shaq are the keys to us winning it all this season. He'll finish just fine, but you can't have a 38-year old, 350-pound center as the focal point of your offense: the days when you could throw it down to Shaq all night and let him do his thing are far gone.

Luckily, it seems like the team is taking the right approach to the Shaq: use him situationally -- for easy looks and getting the opposition into foul trouble, then pull him out when his stamina and free throw shooting will make him a liability.

Of course, how well this is going to work throughout the season depends on how well we're able to defend when Shaq is out there. The Heat had no idea how to exploit Shaq's defensive limitations, but even in a game like this it is painfully obvious that if nothing else, the guy is a defensive-three violation waiting to happen.

I thought he had no lift when the game started.  But once he warmed up some he had some definitely age related.
