Which should I do?

Listen to the first half in the car
DVR the game, and catch up when I get home (being careful not to get any info over the radio on my home)

Wait till you get home to watch the DVR (only if you can make sure you won't  get spoiled before)! It won't be live but it's still better to watch a full game on delay that to hear about it live.

I have to be live. Plus, Grande and Max are pretty entertaining.

The best arguement for Max/Grande and then watching 2nd half live is that you'll be able to join the game thread on C-Blog.

I have class until 7 PM tomorrow, then about an hour and  quarter ride home.  That should pretty much chew up the first half.  Should I put myself in the trustworthy hands of Grandy and Max for the ride home, or wait to watch the whole thing on DVR (albeit not live) when I get home?

Very fired up for this one either way.

ps - stopping at a bar and watching the game isn't an option!

You should DVR it, and listen to a CD on the way home.  You should not, under any circumstance, turn on the radio after the game has started.

I have gotten into the habit of starting to watch games half an hour late anyways, so I can fast forward through commercials.  But it is always scary being out in public when you are DVRing a big game, because you never know when someone is going to tell you the score.

This is somewhat of a habit for me too. Lots of times due to tipoff not meshing with getting the kids to bed.
skip class and watch the game!

Exactly....thats what I'm doing ;)

Can't do it.  Too important.

First run through school, back in "the day"  absolutely (man, I hope my father's not reading this  ;) not that me skipping a class would come as a shocker to him)

This is total no brainer. Nothing compares to watching, especially on tape delay, when you can FF through dumb commercials (like new Nike Ad, "What should I do?").

That is what you should do!!

Just do it!!

I find that Grande and Max are more than sufficient at giving their listener a complete understanding of everything that's going on, and in some cases, reveal things that Mike and Tommy can miss.  I actually think you're gonna get the best of both world...

And yeah, like Donoghus said, DVR it so you can always go back and watch anything you might have missed.

Enjoy the game Redz!  Go C's!

DVR the game, and listen to a CD on the way home.

I would recommend Carmina Burana or Ride of the Valkyries, on endless repeat.

In Australia, the game is on Wednesday @ 10:30am, so, I did what I needed to do, I'm calling in sick, I have already planted the seed by coughing and not talking too much!

Dude, its a no-brainer, DVR, and, while your fast-forwarding all the commercials, you'll end up catching the live game.

I am soooo pshyched for this game!

Let's go C's!

You can't listen to any of it on the radio. DVR it and watch it from the beginning at home. Just bring ear plugs for the ride and don't make eye contact.

I am an expert at this tactic.  I have successfully gone on dates with my wife during World Series games, RED SOX WORLD SERIES GAMES, and kept in the blind (even going so far as to send my wife into the house first to instruct the baby sitter to not give me any clues if she knows any).

100%. I have started loudly over-talking friends as they have come up to me yelling not to say a word about the game. I also hit a guy real hard in the shoulder (to the point he was mad at me) who proved he wasn't a friend when waiting until I stopped and told me anyway. Not cool.

Face it. This is the ONLY way.

Come on, Grande and Max aren't that bad.  I usually listen to them with the TV muted when CSN doesn't have the game.  To me, the only national guy that's watchable is Marv Albert.  At least you get the radio, I'm stuck in class until after halftime and I won't get home until mid 3rd.  This is why God invented the DVR.

I often find myself in similar situations since I teach from 330-930 (PST) most nights; I would recommend DVR'ing the game. Just make sure you avoid your cell phone because I always get texts from ppl during the game or if something big happens. I ignore my phone until I'm done watching the game on DVR.

Another benefit of DVR is that you'll probably finish around the same time if you're just missing the first half. You can skip all the time outs and commercials. You can skip halftime. You can watch just the game and fast forward all the inbetweens. You might even be able to watch the whole game on DVR and catch the end live if things work out right. One of my friends refuses to watch games live. He is very adamant that he starts the games like 45 min to an hour into them, that way you can skip all of the commercials but still see the end live.

Great point about the timing. I rarely watch a game completely live anymore. I wait an hour and then start. I get so sick of commercials and timeouts. It does take a bit away from the feel of the game so I don't do it in the playoffs, but regular season definitely.

DVR is the way to go, though it's a lot better for football and baseball than basketball.  But you can cut your viewing time nearly in half, more than half if you cut out things like opponent free throws and the little interview pieces they come out of commercial with.

But ultimately it comes down to whether you want to catch all the action with as little downtime as possible, or get the more organic feel of watching/listening live with everyone else.
