Yes, it's good to finally have a set roster. I don't like the battling for position in the preseason; it's interesting, but invites injuries to all our good players.

So does that mean lasme is on the celtics d league team..? Do they get paid to play there..? How much..?  I still think the celts should keep him around...and also look at the big men that were let go from the bucks and bobcats.....perk is out for the year, shaq is...daily..i mean i love shaq being here..but injury is alway closer for him....J oniel...is injured now, and has already had 3 injuries so far....hamstring, hand and now back..come on dude...are you 30 or 300...?  What is wrong with j oniel..how can he be so injury prone.....is it real or is he a faker..? At 30, you are experienced and have healin g power, and know how to avoid injuries and get /stay in shape....soooooooo...?  That is why we might need these big men on call...remember last year..? They keep listing bbd as taller every year...he is 6'9" now...hahahahha, he better find the rim and the ball this year, not just be a "sometimes" rebounder...a REAL rebounder is on the top 20 LIST of nba rebounders dig it...! Has he ever been there, no, so don't call him a good rebounder until his numbers add up. That is like calling a guy a scorer, but he doesn't score..! (Wafer?).

Gaffney and harangody here ahead of Lasme....are you kidding....that, to me, is dumb. two 6'8" guys who don't rebound well at all, gody is a shot blocked waiting to happen...and Gaffney...when has he even played..? I haven't ever seen him. What I saw of Lasme, he was a hustler, rebounder, dunker, shot blocker, and a faster runner than bbd or gody....this is like a case of well, we drafted this fool, we have to play him...? Gody is like a junior bbd, worse, and the thinking is "if we play him forever he'll do something sooner or later!" Lasme was producing right away, on the rebounds....he didn't even really get much passes on the post in all those games and he still did more....Gody took 10 shots a game or more.....! As if he is Ray Allen or something...we will have probs with him, mark my words, watch his lack of #'s in all catagories..!

I couldn't even focus long enough to read all of that but... yes, J. Oneal is in his 30's. Healing powers? Are you sure you aren't talking about a Marvel superhero? Everyone (I thought), knows that the older you get the more difficult it is to stay uninjured and to heal from an injury! Are you seriously wondering if a SANE person (not named Gilbert Arenas), would fake 3 different injuries? Especially a guy that you have NEVER heard of faking one! How hard is it to stay away from injuries? Ask Kome Bryant (blegh, I hate to use him as ANY type of example), a guy known for working hard ALL the time (he works harder than just about everyone in the league), how hard it is to not get injured!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

I for one know an awful lot about being a player in his early 30's...i was one, he is 30. That is a time when you heal still very well..! 37, now that is diff. His hand, okay, but hamstring, then lower back..? If you hurt your hamstring, you then aren't really doing anything for a while, so your others pains go away.

 How fragile is this guy?

Don't get me wrong. i want JO, flying and skying...dunking and blocking shots...but how could he get this hurt in limited minutes, in preseason..? He is known for a bad attitude..what does that mean, well, nothing....yet.....We'll see...i hope he has a monster-great year for us...!

Harangody is leaps and bounds ahead of Lasme in terms of rebounding skills. And he had a grand total of 2 shots blocked in 8 games over the preseason. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Anyone who knows hoops and who saw the game can tell the diff between these two, gody got to play with the first team, and had a LOT more minutes than Lasme, i saw the games dude...Lasme goes into it for keeps, gody is a "gimme the ball " type, not a ball getter...but, the only thing to do here, is wait and see, because nothing has happened yet, bubble-boy.

not sure why you're using Gaffney in your argument since he was cut weeks ago.

now matter how you slice it, if this team's fortunes this season hang on who we kept as the 15th player, we're having a mess of a season.  I personally would have liked to have Lasme over Wafer but I understand the thinking with needing to cover for Delonte out for 10 games

geez.... when i first read the thread title i thought it meant DELONTE west was cut....

whew, i feel better now that it was the other west that got cut.

i wanted lasme partly because he works so hard. a sort of "powe jr" work ethic. would have been nice to root for him.

but hopefully wafer will be good and he will get a lot of playing time when the celtics are ahead by 20 points as the final quarter winds so. :)
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
