YAY! You did just enough to get the 15th spot.

This guy seems like a loser.  We should dump him and get somebody that actually wants to be here.

I am sure that will happen if he doesn't pick it up by December.  But for the moment, they need him to fill in until West comes back, and I am OK with that.

At least I feel like he is an NBA player, and I just don't feel that way about Lasme.

So Ray Allen our bench scoring  ::)
Nate Robinson who can go for 20 on any given night playing sub minutes
Shaq or Jermaine O'Neil
Delonte West
Marquis Daniels
Glen Davis
So we need Wafer why? ???

we don't need another PF in Gallon though..

we already have big baby to back up garnett. what would happen to harangody who we already signed? i personally think we should never have signed harangody, so we could sign gallon and lasme or wafer

I know Wafer has soured a lot of fans with his demeanor, especially in the face of fan-favorite Stephan Lasme.  However, I think it will be Wafer who makes the roster, and I'm predicting that Celtics fans will be pleasantly surprised by him.
We fans are a fickle lot.  Many of us who were soured on his 'tude and body language, quickly come around the moment he starts hitting his J with consistency.
As a fan I try not to sour on anyone in pre season. So for me if he starts hitting j's immediately I will be high on him for the entire season.
So, if conditions changed, and say, he stunk it up for the better part of a couple of months, you'd remain high on him for the entire season anyway?

Not me.  Hell, I changed my opinion on TA a lot.  In the end, I just accepted that he was like a box of chocolates, and just came to accept what he did well and what he did poorly.  If a guy's got a huge body of work that I'm familiar with, and he had a poor month, I could reasonably think he'd snap out of his funk.  With some of these guys in pre-season, mostly what I have to go by is what I'm seeing then, because I'm largely unfamiliar with their previous work (in Wafer's case, I know he had one good season with the Rockets).

Because West is suspended for the first 10 games of the season?

so we should give wafer a contract because we don't have delonte for 10 games
need a better reason than that, we are guard heavy

I'd say we're big man heavy.  Right now, we have three healthy and active guards, which obviously isn't a lot.  (And yes, I know Marquis can slide over to SG, but to me it doesn't make sense to make him the primary backup for both SG and SF; he can only handle so many minutes, especially if we want to ensure his health).

Wafer fills an immediate need, and he's a good outside shooter, something only Nate can say on our bench.

No, we'll do that because both West and Daniels have a significant injury history, and we can't afford one of these without Wafer on the roster.

So in this sense, the expectations for Wafer were minimal (come in and do not suck completely). And even so, he managed not to fulfill these for the first three games. Not top credentials, but good enough for a 15th roster spot/7th perimeter player in the rotation.

So true. Another absurd one is to think this Tiny Gallon can take Big Baby spot. He wasn't ever and will never be on Big Baby level. I laughed hard on that one.

I've been a proud supporter of Stephane Lasme making this team, but I officially concede.  Congrats to Von Wafer for being the last member of the 2010-2011 Boston Celtics.

Stephane, I wish you luck with your basketball career, wherever it ends up being.

I think Von Wafer pretty much locked up his spot.  I mean seriously, when was the last the time this kid missed from beyond the arc?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
