I just got done watching this.  It was excellent, and I highly recommend it.  Vlade Divac narrates it, and I gained much respect for him.  It really is an incredible story.  I grew up in the era watching these guys.  Dino Radja I used to root for.  There are some old Celtic highlights ans they once scrimmaged the Bird, Mchale, Parish team.

I am really beginning to hate ESPN.

Why is it so difficult to replay these documentaries? I caught the first 20 minutes of it tonight but had to go out and couldn't record it because I had other things recording.

I was really enjoying it and checked to see when it was on next but found nothing.

I know if I want to watch the same Sportscenter 11 times in a row I can, but why show something of quality more than twice a week? I guess it's not up to par with First Take, Rome is Burning and SportsNation.

Man I agree with you, a lot of these 30 for 30 documentaries have been awesome, but they never replay them. I'd love to watch Run Ricky Run again. I guess they want us to buy them on itunes.

It really was well done.

Just like the war...the entire storyline between the players was tragic and sad.

It's a shame they never got the chance to make peace.

Ya think?  ;)

If they play it again, highly recommend everyone watch this.  My wife and I were watching it last night, she got p---ed when I flipped it off for a second just to check the score.  Tragic story on a lot of levels.

I'm so glad to see this as a forum topic this morning; when i got done watching this last night i had to text a buddy and tell him it was a must-watch.

You really do gain an interesting perspective on Vlade...he comes off as such a good guy/jokester, yet what he will be remembered for in Serbia/Croatia/probably most of Europe was his ill-advised attempt to unify Yugoslavia on the court.

The meeting between Vlade/Petrovic's mother got me teary-eyed; it's crazy to think that 2 guys who relied so heavily on eachother emotionally could become so distant in the blink of an eye.

Oh and the Petrovic highlights against Jordan and Reggie were awesome.  Petro was a star in the making and he had the demeanor to back it up.  I wonder what type of season he had in store following his 22ppg performance with the Nets....

couple of things...

it seemed that Toni Kukoc and Vlade's relationship was still tense/unseasy. I forget the exact statement, but Toni just didn't seem to be as forgiving as say our man Dino.

A young Vlade wow.  Forgot how good he really was, just the ability to get up and down the court for a guy his size was pretty amazing

Drazen.  I remember him dying, i was like 8-9 at the time.  Didnt realize he was as good of a scorer as that.  Really looked to have a solid body that helped him drive, and based on the clips his shot looked real slippery.

keith olberman.....jesus...early 90's wern't kind to that guy

30 for 30 is probably top two of the greatest things ESPN has ever done.

I would put Poker coverage and Sports Century up at the top spot, but 30 for 30 is really close.

"Once Brothers" will probably be available on "On Demand" soon. It is a tremendous story, well told, and very emotional.

A couple other really great 30 for 30 "episodes" are

"4 Days in October" - Recap of Red Sox comeback down 0-3 in the ALCS against the Yankees.

"Into the Wind" - probably my favorite episode, it chronicles Terry Fox and his marathon to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society.

I watched a little of this the other day and it was very interesting as most have pointed out.

We all saw Vlade throughout his career and have a pretty good understanding of him, but I personally forgot how talented Petrovic was.  The Nets were seriously on the map with that guy, Coleman and Kenny Anderson in their primes.

I found a DL link and ended up watching this last night.

I really enjoyed this documentary, and really loved the way they told the story. There was a couple of times where i got teary eyed, esspecially when Drazen’s parents were talking to the random old guy.

I also loved Magic’s role. The way that he was asking Vlade about Drazen, “is he happy out there?” “that doesn’t make any sense”

Five stars for this.

I caught an encore presentation of 4 Days in October this past Monday at around 7 or 8, eastern time.  I think they do this regularly, then play the new 30 for 30 on Tuesday night.

Btw, I wholeheartedly agree with the cudos for Once Brothers.  Phenomenal.
