law of supply and demand - they sold out every game last year, meaning prices weren't high enough

There's still games where the prices are a little bit lower; try checking out non-weekend and non-marquee matchups.

Unfortunately it's mostly on weekends when I get up to Boston.

For instance I'm going to be in Boston the first weekend of November for a wedding.  I just looked at the Bulls game on Friday 11/5, and there are two seats in the very top row of Balcony sec 327, and they are $90.25 each with fees.  I just can't justify spending $180 for my wife and I to sit in the top row of the balcony.

If the seating chart is accurate and the game is almost sold out then the team knows what they're doing, and they're maximizing revenue from each game.  I can't blame them for that.  I personally just can't imagine spending $90 to sit in the top row of the balcony for a regular season game.

Heh...  I'm paying $200 per ticket to sit in the last row of the balcony for opening night.  I had to swallow hard on that one.

Maybe you need to hold more contests for tickets like you did last season so suckers like me will have a chance at tickets.

Hi all - I'm a longtime Celtics fan who grew up in New Hampshire and now I live in DC.  I get up to Boston often and like to go to 3 or 4 Celtics games a year.

I was just looking at tickets for the coming season and it seems to me that tickets in the balcony have gone WAY up.  I seem to recall most tickets in the balcony being in the $40 - $60 range.  Now it looks like there are a handful of the $10 seats at the far upper ends of the balcony and then it jumps to $80, $90 and beyond.  Have ticket prices really jumped that much in one season?

I just can't fathom paying $80/ticket (plus fees) to sit in the upper balcony and watch them play the Knicks.  What's going on here?

I'm surprise they are still on sale. I would expect them to sell out quicker.

I'm seeing them in Minneapolis. Lower level behind the baskets, $65.

Yeah, I see them when they come to DC.  The face value on most balcony tickets is between $30-$45.  Last season I was able to but tickets from a season ticket holder for below face because demand was so low.  With John Wall this season the demand may be a little higher but not a ton unless they start to gel right away.

Capitals tickets on the other hand...now THOSE are expensive.
