Guys....Roy said those were his favorite team, not the ones he thought were the best teams. My favorite team in 2006-07 was the Boston Celtics. Doesn't make them the best team.

Roy's a lawyer guys. Gotta watch the exact wording with him. You know how shifty those lawyers can be. ;) :D ;D <joking>

The spurs are really starting to round out.

PG - Devin Harris/Jose Barea
SG - James Harden/Dahntay Jones/Daequan Cook
SF - Ron Artest/Chris Douglas-Roberts
PF - Chris Bosh
 C - Serge Ibaka/Chuck Hayes

Harden's one of my binkies and I've had a soft spot for Devin Harris.  I had him in CB Draft '08 so I won't go after you there.

I don't know what to think at Artest as your SF.  It doesn't exact strike me as the type of team where he'll keep his composure or focus.  That could be a problem.

Bosh is very solid.  Not sure if I like Ibaka as a starter.

My eight favorite teams, in no particular order:

Toronto
New York
Milwaukee
Washington
Atlanta
Chicago
Denver
Utah

Who am I slighting?  Who am I overrating?

(Also, I think that when people actually look at the West, those who are calling Sacramento a borderline playoff team are going to be very surprised.)
I feel slighted.

Your team is above-average, I just can't envision a circumstance where it wins a title.  The same is true of Indiana.

As for Seattle, I'm not sure if your roster was updated, KC.  The rankings are 1) off the cuff, and 2) based upon the rosters listed in the Transactions thread.
I feel like the underestimation of Josh Smith and Roddy Beaubois is the reason for the slight.

The reason I have a shot of the title is because I have 3 of the top 10 shot blockers in the league. The best point guard in the game, speed and solid rebounding.

Celtics fans should know if you have a team defense with an athletic 4 who can block shots, a stout 5 who can also block shots, a championship defense can be built around that.

Rumors of the bucks making a move to add one of their own to the team are circulating.

To me, your team appears to be a slight upgrade over the Hawks. I could see you going far in the playoffs, but I don't see you contending without adding another scorer.

Hmmm, I'd say less than or equal to the Hawks.  Smith = Smith.  Deron > JJ.  Beabois >= Bibby but is undersized for a 2.  Howard = Williams at this point roughly.  Haywood << Horford.  And no bench player as electifying as Crawford.

Celtics fans should know if you have a team defense with an athletic 4 who can block shots, a stout 5 who can also block shots, a championship defense can be built around that.

Let's look at your team:

Nobody can say anything bad about Deron.  He's a great player, although I wouldn't have him as my #1 point guard in the league.  Right now, you don't have a backup PG.

After that, you have a 6'0" combo guard starting at SG.  I like Beaubois a lot, but he's inexperienced, and I don't think he's good enough to start on a championship team.  Unfortunately, behind him you have a rookie and the perpetually injured Marquis Daniels.

At SF, you have a pothead / headcase coming off of a major injury.  I think he'll be pretty good this year, but he's a locker room nightmare.  He's backed up by a rookie.

At PF, you have a hybrid SF/PF who, again, is a headcase.  Smith is a legitimately great defender, but his offense is pretty sporadic.  Behind him, you have a guy who largely sat on the bench last year.

Lastly, at center, you have a guy who, once again, has been known to have trouble with guys in his locker room.  Haywood is a solid defensive center, and forms a good defensive front line with Smith.  Behind him, you have a guy who does little more than block shots, and who struggled to earn minutes for a terrible Wizards team.

I don't see that team as being in any way comparable to the 2008 Celtics.  I've liked your teams in the past, but I think this one is going to be a playoff team that loses in the second round or earlier.

Well my counter would Beaubois is x10 better than Bibby. Haywood is actually a better defender than Horford, the rebounds are about the same considering Horford is on the court a lot more. The Hawks have all the talent in the world, what they are missing is veterans with a lot of experience winning, although they have been a playoff team the last 3 years most of their players know losing far better than they know winning. The presence of an elite battle tested pg and veterans like Josh Howard and Brandon Haywood bring a toughness to the team that the Hawks simply don't have. If there talent was the same but their toughness and experience was better Atlanta is a championship contender.

Another thing people have to realize is that in this league due to our draft the talent is more evenly distributed. So having a team that is comparable to a 3 seed in the east actually equates to a better team in this draft because the elite teams in this league aren't as elite as the elite teams in the NBA (since the bad teams in our league are better than the bad teams in the NBA).

You opened up a whole new line of attack against your team in picking Maggette, but I do like his fit there.  You needed a guy who could attack the hoop, and Maggette is one of the best at it.

Ya, I thought about it and with the perimeter games of Kidd, Hamilton and Dirk I really thought i needed a slasher.  And while prince is solid he is more of a perimeter shooter.

While Maggette is a liability defensively he also puts opponents on their heals and lives at the free throw line as well as should open up some more space for the jump shooters in my lineup.

Thoughts on the team and how I stack up in the SW division.  I like my depth at guard. And think I have uber potential in Ibaka as an athletic big.  I need a few more big bodies to round out my big's rotation.  But constructive criticism is appreciated
