Auction bidding on Celtics Blog ends at 10 PM tonight (with the deadline being extended by 15 minutes after each successive bid after 9:46).

Any empty roster spots must be filled through the FAAB on the CBS system of Monday night (bids will process at 2 AM Tuesday).  Because it's somewhat of a pain in the butt, and teams have had ample time to fill rosters already, these final roster fill ins WILL NOT be retroactive to Sunday.   Teams will have to work with the rosters they have for the first couple of night.  For the Monday night bids on CBS teams may use only the amount of salary they have to work with under the cap.  You may only bid on Monday if you have roster sklots open.

Starting Tuesday the regular FAAB free agent system will go into play.

I think that covers it for now.

OK...that really sucks...  Did we not decide yesterday that bids ended at midnight?  I have been playing Santa and putting off computer time until now so I could get my last bids in and it has all ended?  What the....?  Really?

Hi all, it's your friendly co-commish (and defending champ  :P) with an update on this year's offseason schedule.

Here's what Redz and I have decided:

FIRST, PLEASE PM ME (fairweatherfan) TO CONFIRM YOU'RE STILL IN ON THE LEAGUE.  I want to make sure ASAP we've got owners for every team, and that every owner is aware of the schedule.  Redz I obviously know you're in already.

So, here's the gist:

- Trading is open as of right now, so you're welcome to begin negotiating deals with fellow GMs.  You cannot trade future draft picks (meaning 2013 or later), but players and current draft picks are all on the table.  Salary is not a factor in making trades but it will affect the cap space you have available for the auction.

- We'll be starting the rookie draft Monday, August 27th.  We'll do it the same as last year, with no scheduled time to pick - when it's your turn simply post your pick to the CBS board.  This should probably take no more than 2-3 days to finish.  Specific details will be posted separately.

- Keeper selections will be due in this thread by 5 PM Eastern, Monday September 10th.  You can submit them earlier, of course.  Here are the key details:

You can keep up to 8 players from your active roster.  You can keep fewer than that too, even 0 if you like.

You can also keep any farm team players without counting against the 8-player limit, BUT to do so they will immediately receive a $5 raise.

This is our first year with contract extensions.  I'll put those details in another post to keep this one smaller.  Suffice to say you'll have to choose between giving some keepers $5 raises or being forced to cut them at the end of the season.  These decisions have to be made with the announcement of your keepers - you can't hold off til later.

- The auction will start approximately Monday, September 17th.  More details on this to come as well, but you should expect it to be very similar to past years.

I'll be emailing each of you a copy of this as well.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Let's get ready for another great season!

Handsome B Wonderful will be turning things around this year!

Steve Nash and Dwight Howard in LA hopefully means good things for my team!

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Just one additional thing.  You may keep a maximum of 12 players total. If you have say 6 farm guys you want to keep on the farm roster you would only be able to keep 6 active guys.  (this rarely comes in to play, but it is a rule)
Yup

Now that I think about it posting here works fine too.

Do 2012 draft picks count towards the 12 player maximum?

No - the guys you pick this year aren't "keepers" in any sense.  Only guys that ended the season on your roster.

Secondary note I just thought to mention - no waiver wire pickups til everything's finished.  Don't know if CBS will even let you do this right now, but if a guy is not on any roster, he's off limits til the auction (or draft if a rookie).

Please check the forum for updates on setting keepers.

Also, we're a little more than a week from the draft, and I haven't heard from Boston Beasts.  Anyone know what's up with them?

EDIT: Sorry, we have heard from RipRed.
