Trade Idea: Baby for Jones

Why? Indiana is looking for a power forward. Celtics are looking for another defensive wing. Plus, I agree with the Truth and believe Sheed will be back for the playoff push and championship run, which means Baby is expendable.

I know Jones is not ideal, that is, he doesn't have the size or length desired but at this point he would be more useful to us than baby is. What do you guys think?

Rodney Carney is a better player than Dahntay Jones.

Free agent + available for the minimum + no need to give up BBD.

I'd rather have Rush, but not sure I see us trading Baby without a specific addition coming in separately at the 4.

Perkins is not going to be back until probably February and may not be healthy at all this coming season.  Baby is going to be very useful.

I think Carney and Jarvis Hayes are the top 2 guys that really fit what we need. Carney for length and defense, Hayes for his 3 point shooting.

Either of these guys are available for the minimum. If we are going to trade, then I want Corey Brewer. IMO, BBD for D. Jones is a ludacris trade proposal. We would not be getting back equal value.

A trade with Indy would have been nice when we had Sheed's deal to package for Dunleavey. Now, they are not a trade partner.

Perfect trade idea. Ask Bird to help us out on this one.

How can ppl complain about this guy when he's an upgrade over Tony, and a lot of ppl were sad to see Tony go.

Dahntay Jones is 2 inches taller, SLIGHTLY better jumper, and plays hard-nosed defense. I bet he wasn't kept back in 08 b/c we had Tony and Tony had Celtics tenure on him.

Whether or not Sheed comes back in February, we don't need BBD unless there's significant injuries before the playoffs. KG,Perk,Shaq,JO and Erdin are enough. Add in Luke and bring back Scal if needed.
Pierce's backup is WAY more important than a 5th undersized bigman/insurance policy.

Im going to go ahead and guess you're talking about Dahntay?

If thats the case, as much as I would love love love to trade Big Baby...Dahntay Jones just isnt that good. So I say big time no.

Perk is not walking through that door until AT LEAST February. BBD is needed as the only backup at PF to Garnett. JO and Shaq @ Center. Dahntay Jones is not near the NBA player that BBD is, regardless of position.

Dahntay is poor man's Tony Allen. Not as good defensively, and both have terrible Offensive game (Although that is yet to determined with how Tony does in Memphis). Baby is way too valuable to get junk back.

And I don't know how Ainge feels with 3 man big rotation consisting off KG/ShaQ/JO Avg age 34.
