The Pistons, looking at the way the NBA rules are structured, are happy to select the next great PG in NBA history

John Wall

Reach!  ;)

(Looks like I won the bet with Fafnir that Wall would be a 1st rounder, though.)
Yup, and taken by an unexpected GM to boot!

Nonsense.  Of all the picks left, he is the one in the best position to have a long term impact.  He is the best chance to buy a star at this point.

And as we all know, no star, little chance of a title.

Equal value at the #19 pick as the #6-10 picks
Thank you Who.

Been trying to say this.

The difference between 6 and 20 in talent is negligible.

Disagreed, especially when Chris Paul was available at #6.  But yes, some of the guys chosen in the top ten (Rondo, Lopez) belonged behind Roy, for instance.

stoyko and the nets are on the clock.

And who's that lurking stage left?

A bear?

That's two vague literary references for me today. A TP to whoever can guess them both.

Lucky, Exit, pursued by a bear, is from Shakespeare's A Winter's Tale. Not sure about the other reference.

I think some of the picks in that range were reaches. But several of the players in the teens should have been taken signifigantly higher.

The Hornets pick is due, the Thunder are on the clock and may pick at any time.

That's not true, there was plenty good talent taken in between 10-19.

That's the harder of the two to identify, so I paid out one TP to you, stoyko.

The other one:
