Hat tip to Celtics Hub for this:

Quote
Marc Spears of Yahoo! just tweeted this:

Celtics still need swingman behind Pierce and Allen.Could it be Larry Hughes? Word is Cs and CHA interested. Hughes looking good in workouts.

The C’s and Bobcats are interested? Fire up your best sign-and-trade proposals, and keep in mind contracts signed as part of s-and-t deals must be a minimum of three years in length, though only the first must be fully guaranteed.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

You guys wanna talk about chemistry killers this is not a well known tidbit.  Larry Hughes used to date Paul Pierce's wife, and he was married the whole time.   I don't know that Paul has a problem with Larry Hughes, but if he does that could be uncomfortable situation in the locker room.

BTW, Marc Spears seems like he's just speculating if Charlotte and Boston have mutual interest, could it be for another player?

This works:

A pipe dream perhaps but this would be fantastic.

I think this IS a pipe dream, but I'd like to see it come true. Jackson can fill it up in a hurry.

If we got Stephen Jackson that would be amazing!

As for Hughes, I have never really paid much attention to him, so not too sure how he is of a player.

We're not getting Jackson, Charlotte isn't looking for a salary dump for him.

I just read on si.com today that Charlotte is looking to make a salary dump type of trade to save money, and not necessarily improve their team.  Maybe not Jackson, but that would be nice for us.

Diaw, baby.  Just proposed it in the Sheed trade idea thread.  Sheed/Baby for Diaw makes a ton of sense for both sides.  Diaw's like a souped-up Marquis Daniels from his Dallas days.  Exploits mismatches for his points or sets up his teammates as a point forward; guards anyone on the floor.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Hughes is yet another SG. Why would we sign Daniels and Wafer and then deal for Hughes. Doesn't really add up.

Now SJax is another story. He would be a perfect fit and would be an outstanding get for DA.

Why does CHA do that, though?

I don't think they do, I don't think we should.  We have enough scorers now and Jax has always been a volume shooter/ball domineer.  There's not enough balls for the Big 3, JO, Nate, Shaq and a guy who's been the #1 option on his team for multiple years now.

We need glue guys and complementary players.

I doubt it too and Jax might want more burn but the suggestion for Diaw above makes sense and we can actually do it without trading Baby with Lafayette, Gaffney and Sheed. Diaw defends up to 4 positions but in particular both forward spots so he could be of use and he's expiring.  I wonder what CHA is doing though, why haven't they waived Dampier yet?

this is stupid, doing a sign and trade for Hughes is like doing a sign and trade to get Mikki Moore. Plus the bobcats can offer him a lot more playing time. He is not what he used to be, and he needs a lot of shots to be effective, what we need is a 2-3 defender, I'd love for DA to sign Deshawn Sims but if he wants an established defender than the best in the market is Ime Udoka, the reason i think he would fit in is because the second unit is going to be very potent this year:
 Nate,Wafer,(Udoka?),Baby,Shaq.
If we get Udoka to be the SF defender we don't have to worry about his offense cause he will be surrounded by potent scorers.
Plus I think everyone is sleeping on wafer, the kid is a baller,he can and will score for us.

Hughes would be a horrible pick up.  I hope we don't do it.  He is very over rated in my book.

I wouldnt be opposed to picking up Hughes but there are much better options out there. With the recent add of Wafer and signing of Marquis I would think this team needs a longer more athletic 3 guard. Not another SG.

Diaw would be great but we arent getting him or Jackson.
