The Lakers will be better with their great additions. I am sure they have done so because they realized that with their 2010 championship team, they cannot beat us again next time. So they did inject more good players into their team. Great move!

Miami, Chicago, Magic and so are the other teams have also gone better.

And what do we have?

Nothing. Yet.
 :'( :'( :'(

We'll be lucky if we even reach the playoffs.

Miami and Chicago got "better" than us because they had more money to spend than us.

Miami and Chicago pretty much cleared their rosters and then filled them out through the FA.

We only had the MLE and vet min to use to fill out the roster, and so far I think we have done a pretty good job. I mean I just don't want DA to sign players just for the sake of signing. Due to the age and injuries we need effective players on this team..not just scrubs. Our starting 5 is set, and so far for the bench we have:

Nate
Baby
Quis

All we need to add is another big and a shooter and we are all good to go.

Patience is the key my friend. Summer isn't over, so let's not jump to press the panic button so quickly.

We have had a more succesful offseason than any team except the Heat. Lakers added Matt Barnes. We just resigned all of our players who got us within 4 minutes of a championship. What more do you want? If you ask me.....by summers end, I'll be saying I couldnt be any happier than the roster we will submit.

Your a fool.

****

You're reaching bro.

How is he reaching?

We resigned Pierce and Ray for reasonable contracts.

We used our MLE to get the best center available in the free agency, which was Jermaine O'neal.

We have brought back Nate (who came up big for us in game 6 of ECF and game 4 of the finals) and Quis (who was pretty good before he started getting injured).

So far we have neither over paid anyone, and nor have we gotten any scrubs....what more do you want?

If you ask me, its been quiet a successful off season so far...unless you were expecting to see Wade or Bron in green.

I think he was expecting Bosh too. I don't get some people, DA does an excellant job so far, and still has Sheed's contract and the Vet. minimum to sign more players. They still dont think we had a succesful offseason.

Nope. I wanted a defensive player who can also shoot to defend Kobe, Lebron, Wade etc (like Posey, Barnes).

I also want a defensive rebounder (Josh Howard). And how about adding another defensive big man (Shaq, maybe)?

Another offensive player/shooter would also be of help!

Every other players have already gone to a team. We only added J.O. And all you have to say be patient? Why? Who else is out there to be of help to us? None anymore, just garbage players.

D.A. gotta act now. Not later because it is too late.

Heck, anyone here can tell me that from our championship team of 2008, have we gone better? 'Cause last time I've checked Lakers keeps on getting better (2008, 09, 10, and now 11) that is why we lost to them the last time .

We are being bench marked by all teams, especially the Lakers. And how could you feel relaxed and keep your patience when our captain is so uneasy this summer with what has been happening around!

If we attain Shaq, we just gotten better. Jermaine O'Neal is just a lateral move team wise by my standards with getting another good BIG. Shaq is a difference maker even in limited minutes.

I think your over reacting a little bit.

First of all as fans the only thing we can do is be patient and just see what DA does, because we do not have the power to make any trades or sign any players.

Second of all Lakers don't have a center who will most likely be missing most of the regular season and nor do they have another big who is retiring. That is why they were able to use MLE to get Blake and Barnes.

Our first priority was to get a center who can start for us until Perks doesn't come back, and if that meant using the whole MLE, then be it so.

We still have Sheed's contract and vet min to use to get a shooter and a big.

do you realize how hard it was for DA, especially with the CBA expiring, to keep Doc and resign everyone except TA and sign JO and we still have Sheed or his contract and he's not done yet...

please...

I am sorry I don't mean to be rude at all, but what part of we only have the vet min and Sheed's contract to usedo you not get?

There is not much DA can do, because financially we aren't in the greatest position.

If DA can get us Josh Howard with Sheed's contract and get Shaq for vet min...then we are set for next season. Until we don't see how exactly the rest of the roster fills out...we really cannot go into panic mode.

Until we see how the final roster looks like, it is completely useless to make any sort of assumptions.

I love how this topic has become about how we only have Sheed's contract and the vet min to use  ::) That has nothing to do with the original point, as it stands, that we have literally only made lateral moves since the start of the offseason, Quis for Quis, Nate for Nate, Paul for Paul and so on (JO and Perk being virtually a wash). And we're still short a comparable replacement for TA and Sheed in a free agent class that is quickly drying up.

Regardless of any home-cooked excuses, we have literally not gotten better since last year while other teams clearly have.

Including the one that beat us.
Never stop believing baby~

Finally, someone who see things clearly. My point exactly.

Now, for the other fans here... don't be so naive. Even our 1st five now became weak without Perk. And don't tell me JO is better than Perk because he is not. Now tell me about or bench?

Just tell me straight now... are we better now or not? With the rest of the summer, please tell if we can still add viable players to make us a better team than last year (or better than the 2008 roster)?

And don't lesson me about "we only have the vet min and Sheed's contract to use" crap! How on earth the lakers landed another defensive player to help their campaign? And we cannot even re-sign Tony Allen for pits sake (not that i care or like TA)!

What I am totally saying is that DA did not do his job right. He is just too slow to negotiate (or even think of negotiating)!

I think Jermaine O' Neal is better offensively than Perk.  Defensively, no he is not as good.  But he has a better skillset offensively than Perk.  I think he may surprise you some.

Do we need to get much better?  We would have won the finals we lead by eight down the stretch without our center and a heavily pro laker reffed game just look at the FTAs.

I am not in panic mode.   I think Miami won't have enough basketballs to keep everyone happy.  Steve Blake isn't the best defender or shooter and Kobe is a year older.  o'Neal is another big body that helps us against Gasol who killed us in the finals.  Bynum too hurt us.  I think we needed length more than anything.

I see Danny making a move when some of these moves have not panned out for another team.  A trade deadline whopper.
