Look i'm not a huge scal fan...but at the moment it seems like what we need, other than a wing, is a big. He's 6'11, knows the system, plays D, he'll take the vet min, never once heard him cry about wanting more minutes.. He's exactly what we need. He's not gonna be an offensive force, but he can hit the occasional 3, he's essentially just a slight downgrade from sheed.. and as the #3 big on the team i'll take that.

Lets not forget even tho he hasnt been very impressive we got erden too. He's young dont be so quick to brush him off.. he's not 6'10, he's not 6'11 he's a 7Footer, we just gotta cultivate him!!
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

i would try to get some of the FA out there first...Scal isn't bad, I like him, he can shoot the 3, and can play defense pretty well...He was very effective against Dirk before Dirk elbowed him in the face last season which led to his concussion...

for the vet min id take him back

Scal isn’t going anywhere.

But he’s 6’9” not 6’11”.

maybe Scal wants to wait for the market to settle so he can get a better idea of his value ;D

I'm for Scal returning as well, but he has to get completely healthy first. He also has to be the last player signed after more moves are made. The veteran minimum is probably not my offer though. He's been MIA for 2 seasons, give the extra money back to the bank.

Scali is just waiting for the contract to sign.  I am sure it will get there.

I'm all for Scal coming back. I just hope he's healthier this year.

When he is a regular part of the rotation and gets into a groove, he's been effective for us. It's just when he gets hurt it seems as if it just takes him longer to get back into the swing of things.

But I'm all for him coming back..especially with the players that are left out there for us to bring in.

The very sad truth about the situation with FA is that Scal,Quis,Sheldon,Nate and even TA is that these guys at the end of the season almost nobody wanted or thought would be back.  There was quite a bit of support for TA and some for Nate, but not overwhelming.  Now the market is so picked over, they're the 'cream of the crop', and now fans are ecstatic we got Nate and are saying Quis and Scal wouldn't be that bad to sign! If that doesn't show how bad and desperate a situation we're in, nothing will!
With only 2-3 exceptions, there is no one left in FA that would be a 'significant' contributor to winning a championship, or stepping in for a lengthy period of time for an injured starter!
I would rather have rooted/cheered for a team of young players with no chance of the playoffs, than for a team that has only a prayer and has admittedly no interest in playing the regular season.  Not much to look forward to!
Against all odds I keep hoping for Danny to come up with that 'big deal' with Sheed's contract-maybe bring in a RJefferson, or Shaq, but my sense is that it's just not going to happen, if it hasn't yet!

The backup wing has replaced the backup Pg position this off season...  It reminds me of the movie Inception.  It's as if reading the same thing incessantly will make some people actually believe in it and drop all rational thought in relation to it.  Yes signing a backup wing is more important than every starter coming back and being a contender.  Danny should just trade everyone and go with the youth because they can't get Matt Barnes or Kyle Korver in Green... Rationally though neither of those guys or any other back up wing is even close to that important.  Do yourself a favor and never play a game of poker you would lose all your money in the first 5 mins.

Ledge meet C's fans during the off season.
Little Fockers 1.5/10
Gulliver's Travels 1/10
Grown Ups -20/10
Tron Legacy 6.5/10

I have been saying to resign Scali at the min for the past two years.  He is the perfect 13th man.

He has the capability to be happy not dressed rooting his team on but, if injuries force it, ready to be dresses at a moments notice and provide 10 minutes of smart, playoff level team defense and possible hit an open outside shot.

  • You say when......
Here we go again begging for a guy at the bottom of the barrel....always, and perpetually out of shape, no muscle, no idea of how to rebound, not an enforcer (like we need him to be), his mystery 3 point shot that you all love...buy i still haven't seen it....unless you count that one out of 49 attempts...as if anyone here couldn't do the same...he DOESN"T spread the floor, because no one covers him......Denver rushed to sign sheldon..you see ANYONE trying to sign scal..?  He isn't worth a roster spot, try a rookie, develop a big man..why haven't they ever sent scal to maine..think he'll learn something....?

You guys set the bar so low, that it is underground on this one, making up skills that he doesn't have. Even helping him on his height..LOL...I'll say this, you can be a generous bunch..! Scal should pay to play here, like a gym rec league....like all the guys i have know over the years, that would even take a vaca day to practice their game more..do anything to play one more game, or get better...not scal, he is way ahead of you, he gets paid for doing nothing...get naraja, from denver, at least he is an enforcer...! Heck, scal scammed 3.5 mil off of you for the past 5 years..what is he, a part time banker, a real estate broker..now you want to "bail him out"  you are victims of the helsinki syndrom...you love the people who torture you.....! Your captors...!

What rookie is going to come into a Finals game after not being dressed for weeks and still play playoff level team defense?

I rather a guy that knows how to play at that level vs. a d-leaguer just taking up a seat for a year.  It's not like the Celtics had a bunch of draft picks (you know, rookies that might actually grow into an NBA player) to fill their bench.  We are talking about reject or never picked players.
