Three years, $12.5 million, according to Marc Stein:

Was hoping Tony could be signed and traded for Brewer. I believe the salary numbers would have matched up (although I'm not sure if there were BYC status implications).

It's All Those Jazz! Bulls have their starting two guard as NBA sources say they agree to $12.5 million three-year deal with Ronnie Brewer

Not surprised by this especially after the Magic matched Redick, but I wanted Brewer to come here.  To expensive for us to get him though.

This thread can be merged or deleted with the other Brewer signing to the Bulls thread.

Lame. Wanted him hear. I give the Bulls and A on their offseason moves. They didnt go crazy but they are nicely putting pieces together. They are going to be pretty dangerous next season.

Yeah, definitely no surprise there.  Brewer is a good player; I like him a lot.

Chicago is becoming Utah East, huh?  Boozer, Brewer, and Korver from last season's opening day roster.

Good another team Barnes wont sign with. I say bring in Barnes grab another big and call it an off-season. Would be a very good one at that.

If Tony Allen was this great defensive stopper, why didn't Tibbs go after him,a coach that know him well. But instead they go get the better all around player R.Brewer.I wish Danny could have gotten Brewer first.

Flip Murray, Marquis Daniels, Bobby Simmons, Tracy McGrady, Eddie House, Larry Hughes, Luther Head, Antoine Wright, Matt Barnes, Joe Alexander, and Adam Morrison are all guys who have played the position.

I don't like this signing for Chicago ... feels like they're spending their money just to spend it.

With the past problems Tony has had in Chicago, I don' think he ever considered the Bulls.

Ronnie Brewer tells Y! Sports he turned down Boston offer to sign 3-year, $12.5 million deal with Bulls. Big pro for CHI was chance to start

Quote
"I got an opportunity to start (in Chi). Both (Chi and Bos) are storied programs. It came down to where I could excel more," Brewer told Y!.

Dang it Ronnie you should have signed here.  You started in Utah for sometime this was your chance for a ring.  If he cares more about starting than getting a ring, when he's already been a starter in his career then he's not the kind of player we need.

Having spent the MLE on JO'Neal, a lot of guys like Brewer are simply out of Boston's reach this offseason.  Ainge either has to shoot for guys at a higher level by using Sheed's contract (like Josh Howard) or focus on ring-chasers.
