T-mac go to the Bulls.

I don't think this is a good move for the Heat and I am shocked the Heat would do this.  They have had an excellent off season so far I don't know why they would do this move.

I guess the guy is ok to take a wild card on and maybe it can payoff, but I doubt it.

His ego's too could really become a problem or if T-Mac truly is washed out or even both the Heat can just cut him.

If the Heat sign T-Mac they sure are going to have some big egos on their team!

At this point I don't see how T-Mac has delusions about being a great player, but maybe he does.

I wouldn't want him if I was the Heat though.  Much rather would have Stackhouse instead, he proved he can still play with the Bucks and has openly said he'd want to play for Miami.

Does this make the 'Big Three' the 'Fantastic Four'?!?!?

I can't see how all 4 star players will average 20 points per game. That would be an automatic 80ppg w/o anyone else contributing. I guess maybe Wade and James will have to defer some of their shots to TMac to keep him happy.

Pretty big injury risk for a Miami team without a ton of margin for error.

He knows to do what it takes to be role player, ego aside. He wouldn't sign for a vet minimum if not. He's just jumping on the vet min bandwagon in pursuit of a ring.

Idk if he knows what it takes to be a roll player.  We'll see.

He's a hit or miss, I could still see McGrady putting up some good numbers. Or he could get hurt. But seriously, don't doubt him.

The Heat are beginning to resemble that 2003-04 Lakers "super" squad that got beat in the Finals by the Pistons.

BTW, I think it's regrettable that the "Miami Thrice" moniker seems to be gaining traction. I think the Miami Mercenaries is more appropriate.

One of Simmons' recent mailbags included a fantastic alternate name for the team: the Nazgul. For those who aren't familiar with Tolkein's works, the Nazgul were 9 kings whose lust for the power held by the One Ring eventually so corrupted them that they turned into wraiths, servants of Sauron.

I think I'm calling them the Miami Nazgul from now on.

If Miami signed Stackhouse that would be an excellent signing for them!

Agreed.  Both would provide scoring punch off the bench at the 3/2 spot but I think Stack is a better character guy who is more proven recently.  T-Mac looked really bad when I last saw him play and maybe he could be good for them but he's not worth the risk.  Stack has also proven willing to be a role player, while T-Mac has not and in fact has been disruptive.

Obviously he would have to know he would be a role player as he would not start, but that'd be a different role for him to accept.  Stack was a good role player even in the playoffs last year.  Would be a smart pickup.

He said live on NBA TV he would love to go there and go for the ring.  Idk what Reilly is waiting for, Stack would be a nice guy to have on the team.

That is great stuff.  TP.

This.

AI and T-mac are still capable of being a great 6th man for their teams, but it all goes down if they can keep their egos and accept their roles as a bench player.

T-Mac for the vet min is "without a ton of margin for error"?

T-Mac for the vet min is a must do move. Heck, we signed Marbury for more than that when his ability to contribute was far more unlikely.

T-Mac off the bench would be an incredible move for the Heat. The guy would be a great asset off the bench. Don't confuse his decline from superstardom with a lack of ability to contribute at a high level in a reduced role. Heck, we paid Sheed way more than that and his decline had already been pretty steep.
