Kyle Lowry is a better player than Mo Williams.

As a pure PG I would agree.  Mo Williams has him shooting dept.

I think Lowry is very underrated although 6 m is a lot for someone that really hasn't done anything except play back mins.

I expect Houston to match that offer sheet. They value Lowry very highly.

I think Lowry topped out their team on adjusted plus/minus last year. One of Morey's main stats.

You really think they're going to pay a backup pg 6 million dollars?
Yeah, I do.

I would be very surprised if Houston let Lowry go for only an MLE level deal. I think it'll take more than that.

That'd be a pretty expensive backup PG then.  Especially behind a good starting point like Aaron Brooks.

Read that the 4th year is a team option...not that bad of a contract.

Aaron Brooks isn't up to much.

He is a fairly one a dimensional player. A sub par defender, rebounder and floor general. His only use is his scoring and shooting ability but he needs a lot of the ball to take advantage of that + his scoring efficiency is limited by his inability to get to the free throw line.

The Rockets need to have a talented (likely expensive) backup point guard behind Brooks because Brooks isn't good enough to do the job by himself.

They don't need a six million per year one and those parts of Brook's game are only going to get better.

I don't think most players become better defenders and rebounders as they age. He certainly can get better at drawing free throws and being a floor general.

Players can become better defenders as they age if they are put in the right situation and have the determination to.

The Rockets have matched the offer

Quote
Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey announced via his Twitter feed on Wednesday that the Rockets would be matching the four-year, $24 million offer the Cavaliers signed Lowry to on Tuesday night.

Houston had a week to consider matching the offer but barely took 12 hours.

I don't think the Rockets should have matched.  They now have an overpaid backup.  Lowry does compliment Brook's game though like you said earlier Who and Lowry makes up for what Brooks lacks, but I think Brooks will improve on those lackings in his game.
