I don't think he "lied" about his intentions or used his daughter as an excuse, but he must have felt more comfortable not in Utah during that time.

Who are we to judge?

I will say I didn't care then why, I don't find that the stand up thing to do. You honor your contract or take off a couple seasons.

I always thought he was a edited (no masked profanity please )   on the court, and I was leaning more and more towards off the court too.

he may be a big time jerk, but anything that hurts the lakers sounds good to me.

i don't know, guys. i watched the nba finals and found out that derek fisher and kobe bryant are the two best people in the world.

anyone who believe this fisher story (yes i am looking at you, Mike breen) is a chump. it was a joke, as is fisher. i pray he signs with miami to confirm what most of the free world already knows. fisher hid behind his daughter's serious illness to weasel his way out of utan and go back to LA, the only place where his style would be tolerated by officials. flopping and jumping into defenders for a living does not work so great in golden state and utah (or anywhere else).

If Fisher really did what you guys are saying then he should just go to hell.

Leave your a priori biases (i.e. the fact that he is a Laker) aside and consider these points:

1. Most likely the Miami thing is just to get leverage for a contract with the Lakers. It's also nice being wined and dined. I'd be very surprised if he signed with Heat after going back-to-back with the Lakers.

2. Primary care is different from secondary care. Chemistry with your doctors is also important. Therefore rankings of cancer hospitals is actually secondary to 1. Choosing who you get your treatments with and 2. Where your support network (medical and family) is. For Tatum, the few times she needed to see her doctor in New York was not going to be more important than the other 360 days she spent with her family and secondary care medical technicians, which were all based in LA. Hopefully none of you guys ever has to go through the process of these decisions with a family member. I have.

3. Something is wrong with you if you are agreeing with bigoted Jazz fans.

In case people missed the sarcasm, yes I realize he lied to get out of his contract in Utah.  I was being facetious because no media outlet has dared to question this yet...nor will they when it comes to a sick kid.

Ive only really got a issue with points 2 and 3 so i'll let someone else deal with 1.

2.) Its been documented more than once, that Derek Fisher could have gotten better treatment for his daughter in Salt Lake City. What happend was most likely Derek Fisher panic'ing and going to where he knew for sure that she would get help and this is something that even Utah fans dont hold a grudge against him for.

What does rightfully p--- them off, is when Derek comes back to Utah expecting to be treated as a hometown hero but when he dosnt he plays the daughter card to the media, trying to make the Utah fans look worse than they are.

3.) Utah fans should expect a person they basicly gave everything to, to be abit more humble when they enter their building.. but he isnt, he has not been there thanking the crowd, he hasnt been there talking to the media about just how big a favor that franchise did for him. No.. he was back in LA and he could not care less about Utah at that point.. so its only fair that Utah dosnt give a rat about Derek Fisher.

If Derek Fisher was a class-act, he would have a feeling that he owed Utah something but he has NEVER shown it since rejoining the lakers and thats why he's a coward and a spineless person

Everyone would have felt alot better about it if he has said "My daughter is sick...winning is the best cure."

Fischer is a Laker Scumbag.  Nothing is beneath him, if he wanted the best doctors would not the Mayo Clinic be best?

that is the point. no one would have a problem if he just said he likes to play with the best players to give himself the best chance of winning. who wouldn't want to play with kobe, lebron, shaq, etc? especially when your game is as limited as his.

but for him to hide behind his sick daughter, and for the media to portray him as this great guy makes me sick.
