I was impressed with the play of Tony Gaffney in game 2 of the summer league.  He has very good basketball insticts, can hit the 18-20 ft jumper, runs the floor like a gazelle, can finish at the basket, and plays outstanding defense.  The job he did on Evan Turner was amazing to me.  I didnt know he could move his feet so well.  I definetely would like to see more of him, but so far I am inpressed with his versatility, atheleticism, Bball IQ, and defense.  If he keeps improving his jumpshot, gets consistent 3 pt range, and tightens his handles, he could be the long, atheletic 3/4 man we have been looking for.

I'd say it's unlikely he's the 3/4 we're looking for to take the Posey spot next year.  However, he may have a future in the NBA and with us.

I like the Tayshaun comparison defensively. I loved the way he was getting upset whenever his man (Evan Turner) scored. It was a good sign.

I saw Gaffney play a lot at UMass and honestly have never seen a guy work harder to improve his game. He was incredible on defense his senior year and blocked a lot of shots -- he was third in the country. He also was 17th in the country in rebounding and was the Atlantic 10 defensive player of the year. He also improved his scoring and shooting. If he does make the team, the Celtics will not be sorry.
