Kurt Angle: "Oh it's true, it's true"

The same team that took the over-rated Hawks to 7 games without their star center Bogut have made the best off-season moves so far. There's no doubt now with Maggette, who has the same skill set as john salmons but has a more athletic/physical build, who can stretch the floor with Salmons & Jennings, & the 28-year  old pf Drew Gooden who averaged 8.9 pts & 6.9 rebounds with Dallas but 14.8 pts & 9.4 rebounds with the clippers, but has shown flashes of brilliance at times, will be the sleeper in the East like they were last year, but this time around they have the firepower & bench to contend with Orlando, wherever LeBrick James goes, & the Celtics.

we should be scared because Rondo has shown lapses with poor judgment when it comes to PG that can stretch the floor like Jennings, Jameer & Fisher. Jennings is not even 21 yet and has proven to put up big numbers, albeit inconsistent, but with the additions of Maggette, as 6th man in CDR & Drew Gooden, the scoring burden is no longer on him when Salmons, Delfino or Stackhouse get cold. & Mbah a Moute will only get better with time.
& God help us if this is the season that Mike Redd, Ray Allen's Pupil, decides to be healthy.

only good news is that they can't re-sign Luke Ridnour

FEAR THE DEER

Jennings/Mike Redd
Salmons/CDR
Maggette/Delfino/Stackhouse
Gooden/ Mbah a Moute
Bogut/Kurt Thomas

ECF?

I think not. Taking the Hawks to 7 games isn't all that impressive.

Salmons and Maggette just don't scare me as center pieces on a contending team.  Each would have made a good bench player for the Celtics, but I certainly wouldn't rely on either of them.

It seems like the Bucks are full of guys who play mediocre-to-non-existent defense, outside of Bogut, especially in their starting lineup.  Who will make their stops for them in crunch time?  (Delfino and Mbah a Moute are both good defenders, but they're presumably going to have reduced roles.)

(Also, nit-picking, but Michael Redd isn't close to a point guard.)

Oh wow how did I miss that detail.

Redd bringing up the ball against Rondo with his one working knee would be entertaining.

The Celtics need to be more scared of the Heat and whomever they pair with Dwayne Wade.

The Bucks could be as good as the Magic next season at there best, but not as good as us.

I agree. At the end of the day, if it's not the Celtics, another team will prove better than them in the East. Maybe it is the team that gets the superstar free agents while having the role players to back them up (like Lebron+Bosh in Chicago), but if the Magic and Cavs of last year couldn't make the NBA Finals (while being careful not to forget we were responsible for both their demise  :D), I don't see how this Bucks team can, especially if these Bucks really are more defensively handicapped than either of those two teams.

I'd be shocked if Redd ever steps foot on the floor in a Bucks uniform again.  They have no plans of playing him and will just try to trade his expiring contract for something.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
But never forget that they'll have a few of these on stand-by at all their games:

Reminds me of that Atlanta squad that guaranteed season ticket holders a playoff birth after landing Shareef and Big Dog Robinson.

Bogut's too good for this team.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

They've got a lot of mediocre players who's perhaps got great individual numbers, but who I doubt will gel nicely together. I'd say the team looks okay on paper, but I doubt they'll excell in reality. Even though I'd like to see the Bucks have a bit of success, one of the possible playoff rivals I don't dislike that much.

I think their starting five will be somewhat like this.
PG: Jennings
SG: Salmons
SF: Delfino
PF: Mbah a Moute
C: Bogut

With Maggette, Gooden and perhaps CDR (due to lack of a combo/point guard) as their main rotation guys. I fail to see Salmons and Maggette co-exist in the same starting five, or at least I don't think it would be a great mix..

Also, CDR as a 6th man? What has he ever done to be considered a 6th man? He was a rotation player on the Nets, one of the worst teams in NBA history - And he didn't exactly put up great numbers, or show flashes of brilliance..

Their talent is spread out over too many players. They don't seem scary. They don't even have an unquestionable all star quality player.

Add players doesn't always equal improving, especially since it is possible the team overperformed the preceding season.

Did they trade Ilyasova? I liked him more than Gooden.

Starting Maggette and Gooden is not a good sign.
