Also fell in love with Summer league during those dark years in the wilderness. Is very different this year with so few roster players getting and draft picks getting any run.

But still a way to ease off of the addiction to C's season.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
Summer League = Idiot Announcers.

Can't wait...

Agree, AJ. Those guys weren't even announcers. They were like non-sports morning talk show hosts who didn't know much about the game, nor care about the in-game action. They didn't know guys names, never mind announcing substitutions or acknowledging baskets. Can't believe those guys will be on again. I doubt they will be.

Still excited to see what Wittman especially and Art P. and Grody bring.

I went to the Summer League games the last time the Celtics played in Las Vegas (BBD was on the Celtics team).  I had a blast and the whole tournament was very well run...it just had class! I couldn't wait to go back....but, the venue was changed to Orlando.  Although I live in Florida, I elected not to go.  The tournament was run worse than a Junior High tournament.  The announcers were crude, dismissive, had no idea what they were talking about and had absolutely no respect for either the game or the teams involved.  In other words, I was glad that I had decided to save my money.  It all surprised me, though, because everything else in Orlando is so well run and aimed at public relations.  I will not be going this year either, or until they prove that they are capable of running a class event.  I love basketball, and refuse to see it run into the ground by buffoons.  The announcers may be ok on a general talk show, (I don't know, I have never heard them) but not where some mastery of the sport should be expected.

Orlando is closed to the public anyways. And I actually like those guys Dante and Galante that commentate for the broadcasts...they are hilarious, imo.

Yes, I forgot...by the looks of the gyms, we have bigger ones in our community centers here in the Clearwater area.  I have heard others say that they thought the announcers were funny, too.  I just don't think they belong in a basketball venue...I thought the whole broadcast to be very insulting and not funny at all.  Just my opinion.  Las Vegas was run so well that it made the contrast stark!
