Some team will call Sheed in March and he'll join them.

All in all, this worked out great for us -- Sheed gave us a great playoff run, and then we get roughly 2/3 of our money back.  With that said, I'll miss him.  He was a character, and a big game player.

Oh, and we just became a worse team (gonna miss that post-defense.)

I'm hoping that team is us. He takes most of the season off which works for him since that is basically what he's been doing anyway. Then gets back in time for the playoffs. Even a year older he'll still add depth to our frontcourt.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

One of my favorite recent Celtics memories:  That Sheed 3 from the corner against Cleveland was as loud as the New Garden ever   was (yes I was there for Game 6 08 against LA).  Listen to that -- it blows the speakers out!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrTUFZxZeFM

Could of at least let us trade him first..

Well, we aren't sure the paperwork has been officially filed, but I wouldn't be surprised if Danny just told him to do it.  The savings could be very valuable for this team, that would be really pushing it to resign Ray, and use the MLE if he was still on the books.

If that's the case I am one p---ed off fan.

He won't be able to come back. Teams won't agree to let him come back. You can't just retire than come back. Look at Jason Williams.

Sheed I just want to say thank you.  All year you and your teammates were counted out, but sometimes things just aren't meant to go your way and things like bad officiating and injuries happen.

We all know that you and the other twelve guys of the Celtics are true champions!!

Thank you Sheed...

Thank you!!!

We still better be able to! [dang it] Wyc! Don't get cheap on us now! One more year, that's all I'm asking! Then blow it up and bank during the rebuilding stage! We need this!

Thank you Sheed for a great year.

You were the best player in Green on the court in Game 7 and that's what I'll remember.

Thank you.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
Thanks Sheed, for sorta trying most of the time, trying real hard in the playoffs and playing through pain, and admitting that you're addicted to collecting action figures.

Hoping you're right. He could be the 2011 version of PJBrown.

How would this work in terms of the cap?
