For those (like myself) that are intrigued by the idea of chasing a restricted free agent like Tyrus Thomas, Josh Childress, etc, are you also prepared to have that offer tied up in limbo for 7 days while other top MLE guys like Miller, Harrington and Outlaw sign elsewhere?

Don't forget that the matching team has 7 days to decide if they will match the Celtics offer, and possibly wacking those first 7 days of free agency from 7/8-7/15.

Let me know your thoughts...

I had been gung ho about throwing an offer out to Thomas or Childress, but now I'm having cold feet. Those 2 players are talented enough, that I have to think that Charlotte and Atlanta might retain them or sign and trade them elsewhere...

If you can land Tyrus Thomas with the MLE it's worth the risk. Just not sure that's possible.

I'll tell you one thing, its dilemmas like these that make me glad I don't have the pressure of an NBA GM. This is a very important summer.

I trust Ainge to get the right info on players during the negotiating period. (Whats my alternative? haha) And I think I'm still cool with the 7 day freeze.

I also think that there should still be plenty of interesting talent available after those first 7 days.

I would risk it for Tyrus Thomas. The most enticing MLE option by a fair margin. He's already good with potential to be very good and he's a great fit for a pass-happy guy like Rondo.
