As far as letting it go goes, I am sure that Laker's fans would love to let it go.  They are the Darlings of David Stern, ESPN and the NBA.  It was so obviously a rigged and manipulated outcome that I am no longer an NBA fan.

The Celtics are constantly getting hosed by Stern.  A few years ago when we came in next to last place we were going onto the drawing for the draft pick and came up with the fifth spot.  They picked the spots in a secret room where no one else but the head of security for the nba could see and he certified the results.  The three teams that should have gotten the 1,2 and 3 pick all finished 4,5 and 6 in the order of their finish.  Stern had previously accused those teams of tanking their season.  It looked like a pretty obvious fix to penalize tankers.  I don't remember the drawing ever being done in a super secret room before and the public being told to trust the outcome because it had been certified by the head of nba security.  It stunk and still sticks of being rigged.

Let it go it's not like; the lakers didn't get ripped off in 08.
Boston got away with a lot of dirty plays - listen to the players talk about all of the Celtic’s cheap shots. KG pushing and then walking away with his hands raised. Come on let it go!

As for those crying for Celtics fans to get over it.  I agree that the Lakers won the series and as hard as it is to admit they are the better team this year (by a narrow margin).  Still, this is a Celtics site, so it's natural to expect some griping around here - especially when the wounds are so fresh.

So lighten up.

so based on your logic, every nba and mlb champion should be stripped of the title world champion?  i think thats stupid (calling the notion stupid, not u).  i understand it might come off as arrogant to people outside the US, but its always been that way.  one other thing to consider....both nba and mlb are the best professional leagues in the world, which is why international players play there, so in a way, the title could be legit.

i hate the lakers with a passion myself, but to strip them of their title just comes off like someone whining.  our boys lost.....it sucks more than anything, but u have to come to terms with it and move on.

Yeh really! We get it. It's a stupid outdated name for the title that doesn't really stand for what it is.  But as new cliche goes "It is what it is."
