Anyone else here from Connecticut? On my lunch break today, I noticed something rather disturbing on SportsCenter.  The sound was off, so I couldn't hear it said, but the captions were on.  And the phrase that caught my attention stated that Connecticut had turned its back on Ray Allen.  ??? ???  I, for one, have not.  If it turns out that Ray-Ray leaves Boston, I will end up following the team he lands with. (Along with the Celtics.  ;)) I hope SportsCenter was not generalizing the true Ray fans with those people.  We all know of his shooting woes of late, but that's no excuse to stop cheering/supporting him. Love you Ray!!!

Connecticut is suburban New York all the way up to Hartford and as far east as New Haven. People in that area hate Boston teams.

I grew up in the northeast corner of the state, near the RI and Mass state lines. Very much Boston sports-team country.

[Except for hockey. It was all about the Whale then.]

I find it strange this has come up. Ray recently called Stanley Robinson, as a fellow former Huskie, to wish him well before next week's draft.

You'd be surprised how many people I've talked to in my neighborhood (Hartford County) that are Celtics fans.

Yeah, Hartford is right on that border. Lots of C's fans there but southwest of there the Knicks/Yankees/Giants rule the sporting world.

I grew up in Windsor (town north of Hartford) and went to school in New Haven.  It was pretty 50-50 for Boston vs. New York alliances.

I live in southeast CT in mystic, ct. I can tell you this area is split in terms of Boston and New York. I think the majority are Boston fans. Probably about 65/35 in favor of Boston over New York here. I live about 2 hours from New York and 1 and a half from Boston, right on the border of RI.

I'm a huge Ray fan and I will love the guy wherever he goes. I'm 26 and grew up in the 90s watching Ray Allen on my Uconn team winning Big East titles vs Iverson, etc. Probably my favorite athlete in all of sports. It is extremely sweet to see him as a member of my favorite NBA team though and I hope he stays.

I grew up in Fairfield County and it was solid NY territory.  Everyone is right about the borderline being around Hartford down to New Haven.  The Yankee fans extend as far east as SE CT and RI due to the I-95 effect.

I have to admit I was a Vin Baker fan due to his U of Hartford roots.

Did you go to UHa? I did, went to some of the games. But I still remained a Husky.  ;)

No but my cousin went there, and both my wife and sister went to UConn.
