“Everyone wants to choke [Rondo] at times,” Celtics center Kendrick Perkins said, “but in a good way.”

Hell if Perkins had Rondo's learning curve we wouldn't need Allen or KG. If he put more energy into hard work like his perpetual scowl he'd be more effective on a reliable basis. He's still dealing with setting picks. I guess his development or use of skills are hampered by the Big 3 needs first.

I have a joke about choking, but I won't go there ;)

I think Perk has developed a ton since he came into the league, honestly.  Rondo has too, of course, but both players have deficiencies in their game that haven't really changed much over time.

The biggest difference between the two is this: when Rondo first came into the league, I didn't expect much. Now I expect him to be the best player on the floor. When Perkins came into the league, I didn't expect much, and I still expect nothing.

I'm clean shaven when rondo drops off the pass to Perk under the basket. I have a long white beard by the time he attempts the shot/dunk. Perk is the dude I wanna choke sometimes.

Wow, I totally thought this thread was going to be about Rondo's free throw shooting...

I don't know if this is his nickname around these parts, but I know a Celtic fan that calls him, "The Gathering".  :D
