anyone else getting tired of Whiny Phil's self-obsessed, self-indulgent, Zen-Induced, myopic rants...Doc has way more class...Doc could of went off the deep-end with all fouls going Clevelands' way or Howard's shots to the Celtics...but...he didn't...is Whiny Phil watching the same games...Ray was completely taken out of Game 1...KG has been severly limited by fouls thru both games...we had 4 players with 4 fouls each at the end of the 3rd qtr...two great blocks by Paul & Baby that were called fouls...for all the complaining we do about Doc...we should count ourselves lucky...

It would make my year if it turns out that the coach that Phil Jackson just can't beat to win a title is the Boston Celtics' Doc Rivers. I mean it would really make my year.

I was tired of Phil's whining before the series even started. Now I feel ashamed for badmouthing Stan Van Gundy so much who didn't act anywhere as smug and entitled as this tool.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

if we can pull this series out, it'll be phil 0, doc 2; kobe 0, pierce 2. that would be freaking awesome. phil is a massively overrated coach. he doesn't really do much as a coach. not really an X's and O's guy, and not exactly a great manager, either. he's had the single-best talent in the game (jordan, kobe), and usually 2 of the top 10/15 (pippen, shaq, pau), and beat lesser opponents.

There's nothing anyone can do about it. Even though it's not true in reality, Phil Jackson will always be regarded as the best nba coach ever. uggh. The idea is so ridiculous to me.
But it's just like if the Llakers beat us this year they will be regarded as the best nba franchise ever. I'm gonna go way out on a limb and say Mark Jackson will be the first to utter these words. Then the rest of the media will follow and it will become truth in the eyes of the many.

it is your classic biy who cries wolf issue as well. he whines all the time that even if/when he has a valid point, it is hard to take him seriously. also, you never know if he legitimately feels what he is saying is just, or is he just politicking in the media for calls in the next game (which by the way, stern promised to come down on, primarily because of jackson himself).

but yes, i was sick of him long before this series. was sick of him right around 1993.

You know I was just thinking the same last night after I saw the post-game interviews.

I am just sick of Phil's constant whining, Bynum's injury talk and Kobe's constant 'don't dare ask me any questions' attitude during the post game interviews.

You look at Doc's interview after game 1 and Phil's interview after game 2 and see how both react to the losses. Doc is a definite class act and behaves in a very mature manner after a loss. I have never seen him through any of his guy's under a bus or do constant whining after a loss.

Next look at Pierce after game 1 vs Kobe after game 2. Pierce calmly answers all the questions. He is very angry that they lost but he still behaves in a mature manner. Kobe on the other hand has this 'don't u dare ask me any question' look on his face through out last night's interview. I know Kobe that your angry, but don't make it look as if your doing some huge favor by giving the interview; its part of your job.

You know I always fail to understand why we are the most hated organization in the league. Through out the playoffs there have been games where we have been playing 5 on 8....we have faced multiple injuries.....and had a few tough losses....but instead of whining and crying to the media about it....each time we have bounced back bigger and better and let our game do the talking.

I am going to say this now, I wish Doc complained more.

Why?

Because it works.  The NBA officials are lambs that follow the loudest voice.

When he was whining about Kevin Durant getting all the superstar calls... that was just too much. Every other coach or player in the league can say the same thing on Bryant.

Yes, Phil is whiny.

But "massively overrated"?  Look, I hate the guy as well, but we need to give some credit where its due.  Jordan wanted to play with the guy.  Kobe wants to play with the guy.  Part of what makes Phil a successful coach is that he gets guys to buy in.
Celtics fan for life.

You mean he gets the best players in the history of the NBA to buy in. And sometimes the other guus -- Odom, Vujasissy, etc.  buy in or not. The guy is a good coach, but he has coached two of the five best players in the history of the NBA. And he was handed Gasol on silver platter.

In addition, he is the most condescending, arrogant jerk in the NBA.

Other than that, I think he is great.

Lets see him coach the clippers and see if his triangle offense is great then. It's yet to be used w/o a top 5 player in it.....the guy is a joke.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!
